Peter. one last point on the waiting list, I gather you dont want to say that the items are not available and I understand why but how about sending anyone that filling in the order details a note saying no more orders are being done at the moment.

As I mentioned before its not clear at the moment and you could end up with some very dissapointed potential customers who think they have ordered the case.

It's funny that you should mention this. I'm new to this website, but I noticed that many people on this site are inconsiderate and don't answer questions. I e-mailed someone about buying a board for this amp, since they were selling them and I never received a reply. I find this very discouraging, since I strive to always answer any questions put to me. Anyway, could you tell me how I could purchase boards for this amp?

I placed an order for the chassis and understand that you have delivered the first set so the second set (if there is to be one) may be some time away???

If that is the case, and I have now ordered a kit from Brian, anyone any ideas on a cheapy alternative whilst I wait and see what happens with the 'real' chassis.

Something in the UK would be ideal, a Maplin/Farnell special??

i feel people on this forum are really helpful. we have to keep in mind that them replying here is not their full-time job and it is only done out of interest.

your post could have been missed, considering this thread is already 63 pages long. 😉

regarding the chassis (correct me if i am wrong, Peter), what i understand from Peter is that you can still register your interest in ordering them at his website , and he will try to ship available kits out if he has left-overs. he might also do this group-buy again if interests are high enough.

With out going through 63 pages messages, may I ask what the total cost of the chassis came out to?

Also how does it come equipped? X-former, binding posts, RCA's, switch and pots?

Question for Peter: Power Switch and more?

Peter,

I looked through several threads and the specializedkits.com website a couple of times but could not find information about a few things.

First, how does one turn on/off the power to the integrated amp kit? Is it a position on the selector or volume switches?

Second, when will there be more info on ordering the Patek Amp? I've been drooling over the pics and I'd love to build a whole pile of them for friends/family.

Third, if I want to get the back panel drilled for Cardas Patented Binding posts, what length of posts should I order, long or short?

Fourth, what gauge of hookup wire do you supply with the kit?

Last, What transformer do you recommend to fit comfortably inside the case? I think I read BrianGT mentioned he uses 2x24V and you use 2x22V secondaries, but I really don't know where to get one that will fill the bill and be the right size/Volt Amp value.

Sorry for all the questions, but I've read so many threads on this today, I just threw in the towel.

There is no power switch. This unit can be classified as a preamp (from power consumption point) so I didn't consider power switch as something neccessary. All my amps are on all the time and they also sound better this way, as no warm up time is required.

I should come up with Patek info as soon as I completely ship out this order (which BTW I started doing already).

Short patented posts are better.

I supply 20 ga , stranded silver plated wire (in teflon).

Any transformer that is no more than 5" dia and less than 2.5" in hight will fit. This means that up to 400VA toroid can be used. Irecommend 2 x 22V AC on toroid.
