I started on the prototype yesterday evening, and I was working all morning, and I didn't even start on top and bottom covers. It takes at least 8-10 hours to cut, drill and tap all the panels, not even taking into account brushing and anodizing.😉
On the order page, some people have already paid. Have you finalized the amount then? And how do we pay?
There is another issue. I'm presently ordering 60 sets of those chassis. But I would hate to see that I'm short in numbers.
I plan to keep at least 10pcs for myself, to offer as complete, assembled amps, another 10 pcs. goes to AudioZone and will be offered as just the power amp. So if anybody wants a chassis, the time to submit the order form is now, as later they might not be available at this price.😉

Here's the online order form:

Peter,
what about the Classe knobs and the recessed and silkscreened frontplate?
Can you already state a price for the knobs, so I can add it to my total payment?
I'm really excited about these nice cases already...

I didn't get any confirmation on knobs yet. You can always pay later, if they become available. I might know something in next two days.
India knobs samples sent to Peter from San Francisco, Mon at 4 PM. One of the samples has the cut away sides like the ML knobs.
Perhaps the knobs should be a separate group order?
We would need a hundred to get an order to Uncle Knobby in India- BUT, that's only 50 pairs!! Looks to me from some pricelists I got including shipping, that they price would be about $3-4 each
(probably including delivery shipping to people) if we got ML clones in about 32mm (1 1/4" ) size.
Downside: probably 5-6 weeks to get them into peoples hands.
Upside: Your amp will be fully operable even without a knob 😉

If those guys in India are serious and up to the task, I don't mind. My initial talks indicate that Classe type knob would cost at least CAD$15 to make. It is pretty complicated design and not that easy to make.
I personally don't like the classe knobs. I would prefer just a cylinder of a good size and the same texture as the chassis.
I'm definitely in for some knobs(no jokes please 😉 ). I like the look and feel of the Kilo int. knobs I'm using but the diameter is too small. I have been having a hard time sourcing big plain silver knobs and I just don't have time to get on my lathe right now....well there's an idea, maybe I can come up with something, I just need to get the wife off my back.
I updated PAID list on the Wiki page, using e-mail addresses as indication who already paid for chassis order:

If you made the payment and your name is not on the list, please contact me.

The quality seem to be pretty good too, with nice overall finish.
I'm not a machinist, but it seems to me that those are not machined, but cast knobs, with two holes opened later. At least the irregularity in surface flatness on front face could indicate casting. The edge seems to be a bit on a sharper side, but nothing to worry about.
If those knobs are offered at reasonable price, they would represent a very good value.

Judging from the sucktion on the front of the button, they are cast.
Could you post a photo of the button from behind?
It should be obvious from behind.
