And here's the bottom, with fuse mounted like that. Will try to offer those cones as well, but the pricing will be additional. Those are good sounding feet😉

I didn't notice small defect on the wooden panel, but the ones supplied will be cosmetically perfect. It will be unfinished maple.

Peter, one of the rca female jack seem pretty close to the power capacitor? any chance you can shift the power pcb down? or is it just me. did BrianGT send you a sample pcb since most of us are using his gc kit with your chassis? can we get a shiny top cover that match the front face plate? btw nice amp chassis.

It is a bit close, but in final layout it will be taken care off.

I used whatever ready made panels I had available, that's why the colors are different. Front and back are alodined (that's why the goldish shine) and top and bottom are painted.

In production version it will brushed and clear anodising.

I worked with Peter to make sure that the form factor and mounting holes work well in his chassis design.

Peter,

Can you tell us the dept (internally of the case. I've found a nice transformer with shielding between primary and secondary windings and a complete metal enclosure. The transformer is 65 mm high and I'm not shure wheter that will fit in the case.

With all the options flying around I'm also a little confused what the standard casing is.

Looking at the layout dual transformers for dual mono will not fit, amongst others due to the rod extensions for volume and selection.

I considered for a moment to use a PGA2310 based digital pot but after extensive search on this forum people seem to dislike digital pots for something as refined as the amplifiers that are build this well. I found a volume control set with a neat little blue LCD screen and a very handsome remote control

for those interested: http://www.schuro.de/preisl-vc.htm
It's in German though

I'll go for the symmetrical version with only one input, using the Cardas patented binding posts. Clear anodising is fine with me.

Peter, the knobs you used fit the design very well. Can you make them available to us as well?

Also, this beauty deserves a more sexy name than 'NI GC Chassis'...

It will be diy, Ikea style 😉

I checked IKEA, they don't stock a model 'PETER' yet 😀

Any other ideas for a nice name to be engraved on the front plate?

Peter Daniel + Brian Bell Signature...

I just like it plain, empty, unassuming... definately not my signature 😉

on a side note, I ordered the boards this afternoon, and will have they will be done in a week, and then shipped to me, so I will have them by a week from this Friday. I ordered a large chunk of parts (maxed my credit card out), and once the paypal funds transfer to my bank account, I will be able to order the rest (Paypal takes 4-5 days to do so). I should hopefully get all the parts by mid next week, then the kitting process begins.

I am still taking orders, as I will keep on ordering parts for a while longer.

Has anyone ever checked out the cones that are on the
Percy Audio web site? There are a couple of low-cost alternatives
there that might be good. That's what i'm going to try if Peter
can't offer what he uses.

Plain is fine too 🙂

Final Product

My preference is for the demo chassis and options as seen with brushed clear anodized finish, with a discreet laser etched logo for the final touch.

What is the anticipated date for shipping, and shipping weight?
Is Brian going to collect orders and money for the chassis as per the electronics side?

Pete and Brian many thanks for your efforts
😎

The inside height is 2.5" (and this will not change) the space available for transformer is 5" x 5" (wall to wall, shaft to shaft)

The knobs are from original Classe preamps. I bought them locally surplus, but don't have too many left so can't offer them. It would be interesting to come up with a nice knob design, but the place I'm using don't specialize in that type of work.

The weight is 14.5lb which is approx 7kg. I will set up a website and will be collecting payments (paypal or MO). All the options will be diagramed, so no mistake could be made.

Usually the lead time is 3-4 weeks.
