I've noticed that if I pause the CD the unit will not un pause or anything I end up having to turn it off and back on. How do I fix this?

Hi daddy4life85
What's the model of the CDROM you use with the controller?Maybe some CDROM cannot compatible for it.Can you use another one to have a try?

Hi, what kind of transformer do I need for the 2 psu?
A toroid transformer 50w 12vac is good?? Thanks

Hi Markenvy
12V/15W and 6V/5W for CDROM and CDROM control kit is enought.

Hi Markenvy
12V/15W and 6V/15W for CDROM and CDROM control kit is enough.

Hi slowgay,
thanks for correction.
I'm trying to put just one transformer, do you think I can use 12 vac for 5v line?
thanks for correction.

My kit was waiting for me at work when I returned yesterday. Cheers for the quick delivery.
I've wired it up to an old MITSUMI drive from 2000. It works well but haven't had chance to give it a full listening test yet.
Has anyone used it with a DAC yet, if so can you simply connect it via a diy cable from the digital out or do you have to do anything else.
Cheers

No you can´t. the digital out on your drive is TTL level. You need a converter, which is shown here: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=1664537#post1664537
My drive sounded rubbish on the analogue out, so I have to use a dac and will build this small converter.
Good luck.

Mischa
I believe mine is also a Mitsumi built in 2000. I was able to tap the I2S signals from the controller chip to my DAC

Hi Markenvy
Yes,It can use 12V fo DC5V out.But in high-current output, the differential pressure Control in 6V, otherwise,it will cause LT1084 fever.Output Protection may be happened (such as a sudden drop in voltage is very low, this time, please reduce the input voltage )

Hi Huang,
Can you post the circuit diagram? or show the back side of the board? I want to see if some inductors can be added for some filtering?. Also can you get a hold of some 10uH inductors?

Hi glt
Here it is.The ELNA-1000uF/35V is out of stock,So I get another instead.
Of course I can get some inductors what you want.

Gabba, for such low power requirements, an AT or ATX power supply may work with fan disconnected. Try this... checking temperatures of the internal heat-sink.
An over-temperature, NTC controlled fan is the best solution for noise and safety, IMMO.
Electronic noise is not a problem (you could also add some filters/regulators)
@slowgay:
kit received in january the 3th.... thanks...
no time yet to test it.

Hi acid_k2
Thanks for telling me that you received the kit~Holp you like it~
Yeah,I use ATX power supply with fan disconnected before to tesk the CDROM control kit. It's OK too.Just a little big.So I used the 2DC prower kit and one transformer(0-6V-12V/25W) for the CDROM now.It work good too.

Huang,
Here are some ideas to improve your PS kit:
According to the datasheet, http://www.linear.com/pc/downloadDocument.do?navId=H0,C1,C1003,C1040,C1055,P1282,D3741 C7, the adjust bypass capacitor is too small. In page 12 of the datasheet, it uses 25 uF for improved ripple rejection. The datasheet shows 150 uF for C10. I think The original .1 uF capacitor can also be used in parallel for further bypass.

Hi glt
Thanks for your helping~You mean it will improve the kit if I change the C7/c12 to 1uf/150?OK..I will get to try it~^_^.Thanks.

C7 change from .1 uF to 25 uF, C10 change to higher value (just following the datasheet)
Actually, C9 and C10 can be both changed to say 220uF which is a common value
If you can find all Panasonic FM capacitors, those are pretty good with low ESR and widely used by the cost-conscious DIYer. Another appealing (to DIYers) mod is to use ultra fast/soft recovery diodes.

Hi glt
Thanks for you suggestiong.Sorry for I can't find panasonic FM capacitors. It is very shortage in China.I only can find some ELNA or NICHICON FG/KZ.Is the picture correct now?

Huang

ELNA or NICHICON FG/KZ are fine too. I just thought Panasonic FM would be available because they are plentiful here in US.
C7 is 25 uF according to the data sheet

Hi glt
What kind of the 25uF capacitance to instead C7?Just like one of the C8-C11?Or use the non-polarized electrolytic capacitor? Is the picture correct now? Thanks
