CD de-magnetizer, good idea or snake oil ?

Once someone gave me a demagnetizing CD to demagnetize devices. Well, I did not say I think CD is outdated and I don't use these for at least 20 years anymore. So I ripped it to files and put it on my NAS in a closed spot (one does not want to have shuffle play select these files).
It has some signals in various frequencies, noises and some sweeps. I will not say if it works or doesn't work 🙂

This is definitley one of the best purchases one can make !
I sell a model that has the Organ, Guitar and Bass problem solved. But it doesn't help by 100 % with the marching band problem. But we are developing one that is able to demagnetize a whole marching band at once. For a price-list please p.m.

Charles

Completely useless! CDs are outdated.
Better buy my SSD/flash drive demagnetizer (TM).
It rearranges silicon atoms with the use of carefully crafted electromagnets and completely removes graining from audio files!

Cal, as a dog lover, you must be barking mad!

Actually there is something that happens to the aluminum layer in the CD when place in strong AC magnetic field. A current is induced and may heat up some small deformations.

There certainly are some folks who have noticed a difference before and after being demagnetized!

Possibly a variation of the Munchausen effect.
But it’s digitally encoded.. so unless there’s a hole or three in the alu surface.. i should have thought it’s not going todo too much..
