Noticed that over the years, PCB layouts started to become neat, symmetric and colorfull when the glossies started to show pictures of the insides?

And subjective reviewers want to hear about that and it does affect their judgement. Sounds like first class marketing to me and has certainly worked for you as the awards show 🙂
Differentiates it from the dirty dusty mucky world of normal electronics, especially such things as filtered, temperature, humidity controlled assembly houses, not IC manufacturing clean but in my experience pretty good...

All layouts I have ever done and most of my colleagues have always strived for a neat layout.... but then we rarely do consumer high end audio designs, I don't think we are qualified enough🙂
.......and if only artistic merit was scored in the mens' 100m I really believe I could be on that Olympic podium.......... 😉It is like winning races. After awhile you just have to believe that you are more successful than most of your competition.
How could that sterile precision compare with hand selected wires individually attached with love and care? If its a one off and no comparisons are done with other one offs from other people so much the better.
Unless the Wilson, Ref recordings, performance recordings/TdP special could be collected together on the same mike feed they all stand alone as the 'top of the pile'.
Of course it could never happen 🙂

Neat is good. Symmetrical is arguable. But the hairy arsed pick and place operator will get stroppy if you randomly rotate resistors just for lols!
One day peeps will pay top dollar for bona fide 20th Century dirt, dust and muck.........the smell of vintage equipment is all part of the real deal. Bottle it up now for sale later.Differentiates it from the dirty dusty mucky world of normal electronics
Actually it doesn't matter, resistors only have two orientations as do all non polarised chip components... so all decent P&P front end software will constrain orthogonal chips to 0 or 90, but even odd angles don't matter these days, do round boards with components (mainly connectors and filtering) placed on 5 deg steps to match the circular board and then I will do this to facilitate neat routing.....

Is there any measurable evidence that Bybees do make a change, among the two-or-so dozen known distortions and behaviors in audio signal reproduction? Or, do Bybees only work in theory?
What theory, they contravene known physics... I would read this thread...
The whole theory behind them is a fairy tale..........

It matters on speed and IR reflow settings, which is where the machine room get arsy. But you know that far better than I. 🙂

No, in theory, Bybees can't work. If they could, we would make energy from nothing, just to mention one thing. The reason is that it claims to create order (filter out noise) without creating more disorder elsewhere. This goes against the second law of thermodynamics.
As may be expected from this violation of one of the basic foundations of physics, no measurable evidence exists for the claims made by Bybee.
Nice! Electrons don't like sharp corners.
Myth...There are hundred of sharp corners on that board and every board with via's, in fact every board that utilises via's for getting signals from one layer to another is putting the signal through two 90 deg corners at every via. Sharp corners are of no concern till you start doing microwave boards

Sorry, second time in a week that a joke I made fell flat. Will start using emoticons. Or will quit humor altogether.

Hmm I have just comeup with the concept of the chaos stub where the disorder can be collected and safely disposed of.

A lot of the gremlins just are not a concern these days, even acid traps on boards.... I do have plenty of boring figures on component placement and costs including placement times, these are often added to customers libraries as an attribute on a part so you can produce an estimate of production times for costing's (this and testing times become critical to a products development when you have to work within cost boundaries... all these things are looked at and integrated in the development cycle for most designs especially when you are working on designs with lots of competition. Balancing all the factors including functionality (always wanting more) reliability, manufacturability, testability etc. is an on going education, I do lots of seminars on DFT, DFM etc. Sometimes life can be to exciting🙄
So, the creator, Jack Bybee, is a fraud and his claims of military work and patents are fabricated?

Even now this is a big issue with most engineers and is still a strong belief that they will cause problems, just recently put some stuff up about flying electrons and mayonnaise jars on another thread... and some commented that the EMC guy was correct about electrons flying off 90 deg. corners...
OF FLYING ELECTRONS
Of course I would presume that using a BQP would stop this happening as a happy sleek electron is not as noisy as his unpurified cousins🙂
