True, good idea... yet I have not decided yet... just experimenting. Thank God for those cad programs. Graphite color would also look good...Well if you want black you could do wenge and still have a dark wood type finish.
I am biased since i always prefer white over any classical color finish but... i really like the white over grey/black/any color ??? 🙂

So, something incredibly rare happened, my wife took the kids and went to visit relatives 😀
So, beside eating pizza and watching Rambo 1,2,3... I have time for some speaker building progress.
I am bringing both cabinets together (wedding day) and checking that everything align.
I chose for 3 point spike and until now everything is according to plan!
And I bought some brass, for the between plateau and base. Think magico mk7

And, I've wanted to add that seems like I'm always lagging behind technology, and when it hits me that I'm missing on something then it hits me quite hard 😏
Enter the World of Rendering... Here I am using Sketchup tool for considering esthetics.... when all around world people are creating virtual world with countless Render Programs. Seems like were living in two planes now.
So it's the tip of the iceberg but damn what a powerfull tool Render is.
If someone of is familiar with good programs I will appreciate it very much!

I've often recommended using Autodesk's Fusion 360, as it is free for non profit DIY use.

It's quite a powerful package and features a full fledged render engine. It might take some getting used to but it's much more powerful tool than Sketchup.
(I've been teaching Autodesk Inventor, the big brother to Fusion as part of my work)

I also discover that my laptop is not up to scratch while rendering. Seems like I'll have to upgrade if I want to dwell in this topic.
I will visit the show on 21-22/5, for a similar reason - obtain an impression of how all famous brands sound.
So, who is coming?
Having a Knack for long and tedious work... staring to apply the brass to the HPL board. I tested some glues and the UHU 2k is a beast.
And I have found the solution for the curved grill. 1.5mm of hexagon steel, seems to be strong yet playable. Amazing the amount of raw materials that is available also to the private consumer, what a wealth

I am really excited to see how you use that mesh to make your speaker grills!
I drew up the speakers but I neglected to draw the grill. I am hoping I can follow your lead.
are you going to use pop rivets to join the pieces of mesh together?

Hmm. I’ll bend the grill in the corners and hopefully it will be attached without a problem to the magnets that I have inserted. Let’s hope for the best.I am really excited to see how you use that mesh to make your speaker grills!
