one more quick sketch.
i would divide the huge front panel vertically to make it less "impressive".
i would handle the rectangular front as a graphic design.
the "polygons" in my sketch could be very very slight bevels, but visible due to different reflection of light. and of course the grille, as the main graphic element...
i would furthermore not stick to a strict symmetrical design, following the asymmetrical driver layout.
just my two architect's pennies.
Thanks STV for the input! the asymmetrical design looks really cool!

I've seen one custom 24 with the same kind of striped wood but a black to white burst ( like the traditional 'sunburst' but from black on the exterior to white transparent in the center with just enough transparency to see the wood stripe all over) which was just incredible as not this dark overall!

I saw something similar in the living voice design. But seems like so much work.. I think it is above me
noamgeller,
Look forward to following your journey and see where you end up with these big boys; given the passion that you put into speaker building projects, I am confident the end result will be good. 🙂

Just for the record: Walnut, with a dark stain preferably.
Wesayso, you are on to something. Walnut looks very imperial and impressive. some of my older German costumer would love it! Also for the front, as you said, those drivers needs covering. So, a simple rounded grill will do the trick. looks very elegant yet mighty... Problem solved. Just how to do a curved grill... will tackle it when will get there 😀
Ho ****, I forgot! I still have the supertweeters thingy on top...

That's starting to look like money! 😀
I like it, with that rounded grille.
A nice brass stand for the supertweeters?
P.S. Half of the money would be in a cool name. Got to love Living Voice Vox Olympian.
The only cooler name in my mind was the Altec Lansing's: "Voice of the Theater" slogan.

From what I remember, English wood-workers get that fabulous stain AND finish result with beeswax (..usually a stained variety).
Though they are talking about restoration here, they use it for new finishes as well:
Beeswax Furniture Polish - How to get the best results. - YouTube
-the more buffing and layering, the greater the shine (..so lightly buffed wouldn't have any shine at all, or very little shine.)

If it were me I'd choose the III iteration, which doesn't require them. 😉
(..plus, good horn/wavguide designs that tend to fire a bit "upward", as with the III, almost always sound better.)

Just received the Viawave I'll put on top (so, too late for the 3ver), those are quite heavy and for my eyes pretty... seems to be of very high quality.

Subscribed, very much looking forward to see what you design with your excellent skills and community contribution!
Thank you so much!.... I'm also curious to see what comes from this experiment...Subscribed, very much looking forward to see what you design with your excellent skills and community contribution!

What I'd really like to see (design-wise) is the III with the added ribbon tweeter on the rear out-of-phase and mounted horizontally. Additionally, NOT a stepped baffle but rather a slanted-back front baffle (and an even more slanted back rear panel). Maybe even trapezoidal with the bottom wider & deeper than the top. Maybe like the Verity Audio Finn but with a slightly more aggressive rear slant (from a deeper bottom panel):

I'll take those Verity Audio speakers, fantastic speakers 😉
So, I've left the fancy desing behind and will persue this more modern TL2 I've sketched. What do you think? Wilson audio killer?

I kind of liked the fancy design, to be honest...
(not a big fan of anything Wilson Audio, more of a form follows function man myself)
