hello Hotzman
I´m in the progress of making a dual BIII into single Legato 3 like yourself
will also use 4 s/pdif selector via Sidecar to BIII
will use 2x Placid HD for dac´s and single Placid HD BP for Legato
will have main source from async usb to I2S device
do you have an overview picture of your layout?
schematic or drawing?
best

Hi Russ,

The placid HD power supply ,why R2 is optional ? also how to measure the resitance of VR2 , measure before solder ?

Thanks

This is the wrong thread for such a question, but I am happy to answer.

VR2 is a rheostat (pot connected as a variable resistor)
R2 is where you would put an equivalent value resistor to replace the rheostat. You only use one or the other, not both.

You can measure the currently adjusted value of VR2 by placing your ohmmeter probes at the R2 pads while the circuit is powered down.

Cheers!

I've searched for an answer to my Q's though this forum and elsewhere so sorry if this has been asked before.

Can I connect both the SPDIF Transceiver Module & the USB DAC/Receiver to the Buffalo III without the need for an additional MUX?

Secondly, which would be a better connection out of 10m of RG59 terminated with RCA's carrying S/PDIF from an M-Audio soundcard, or 10m of USB cable consisting of 2 x 5M lengths with active signal repeaters?
