Bryston 4B SST clone

Bryston clone documents

I am about to embark on building the 4B clone, I have received the PCBs but the seller is not very forthcoming with the docs.
I wonder if anyone would be so kind to forward me any of the documents.

Many thanks Trampo

Your voltages across R38-41 look ok; adjust VR2 to make Q19 current 70-80mA (ie, the voltage across R45 is 23-25mV) and you should be good to go.

Thanks a lot Chalky...I adjusted R45 to 23-25mv...but different voltages in other emitter resistors (1) is it normal? Please explain

(2)relatively low power output(<50w) for 8 power tubes compared to my other AMP assembly (input +/-50v) ...causes?

Thanks

If you biuld the power amp itself, as recommended, then it has an overall gain of about 13. This means that it will require 3-4V rms input in order to drive the amp to full output. If you get the separate input board this supplies some extra gain so that the input can be reduced to normal levels ( ~1Vrms ) for full output.

Thanks Chalky and Amlitiude....you mean my input level not enough.? I used Roland equaliser with +4db output...no separate input board in my Amp this not enough.?

Well the pcb vendor warns you to be very careful with component selection if you use more then +/-70V supplies - I'd endorse that.

Thanks chalky....I finished it with +/- 68v and working fine (little hot)but need little high gain input to drive it as you said. Please let me know what could be the max real world output with +/-68v with your practical experience.? Highly appreciate your continuous guidance and shearing your experience.

Thanks
