Actually my brother was visiting me here
and listening to this my Calss A headphones amplifier

.... He requested a copy of my Amplifier, right away!!!

As he knows not much of Hifi audio,
I also informed him,
that among the best headphones he could buy was
the Sennheiser HD 600 Reference Headphones
He is now as Happy owner of the HD 600 from Sennheiser
and he is using my Class A SE Single End Headphone Amplifier.

Description of my amplifier as well as some contributed PCB layouts
contributed by my audio friends, such as Nordic from South Africa
can be found here in this topic:
Discrete Single End TRUE Class A HeadPhone Amplifier

Not always. But I agree, it was not necessary required there.

Wavebourn, my unknown audio friend :)
I usuallly do no mind Lumba Ogir opinions very much.
He does not contribute very much constructively ( sorry to say as I am from same Swedish country as him )
Some general Lumba & his likes observations i have posted here:
2 kinds of posters: Constructive & destructive Posters at www.diyaudio.com

Don't you think the post by homemodder is of much more positive & hopeful.
He is prepared to see if the circuits we have suggested
are really good .... or not so good as we say they are .... ;)

But he was absolutely right: GNFB was not required there. It did not change anything sonically, but could contribute for bad behavior on transients that did not occur because of input signal limiter/opto compressor that did not allow clipping.

By the way, I am originally from Siberia, former neighbor of both of you. ;)

Thanks wavebourn and linup,

I have a pair of hd545 i used for 12 years now, mostly just plugged them into my commercial amps headphone socket. I have added recently a electrocompaniet aw250 amp to my setup but would like a dedicated headphone amp for the hd600. Ive tried 2 headphone amps from a headphone site which i didnt like to much as its not any improvement from just pluging it in into a rotel 971 and the sound was a bit cold and metallic. I know the impedance is 300 ohms as for the power required look at lineups reference. I know these phones like high current and built a small amp with 2 opamps ad826 in parralel like in jungs application note for my hd545. It sounded ok but struggled at high volume, sometimes i listen to rock music so i like it loud but clear.

These are great headphones, makes me want to throw out my speakers and i think my neighbours would like that too.:D

Lineup, I love your avatar!
I want a lot of such things for my amps!
How much did you pay for a pair of them?

My Avatar.
I have never, in real life, been close to such extreme powerful Caps :D

It is a detail of an image at www.marklevinson.com
I do not know if John Curl had anything to do with this
( but i would not b surprised if they have learned one thing or two from Mr Curl )
but they use some very extreme capacitors in their power supply
for the

Wavebourn,
it`s not my intention to interfere with your commercial programme.

Never mind; that amp design never saw a commercial life.

Thank you Lineup!
I'll beg John to reveal the source of such beauties for less money...

Wavebourn,
for the first time, you are wrong. GNF by nature destroys harmonics. Our imaginations don`t like it at all.
Please read:

Thanks. :D

I was wrong. I destroyed harmonics that were not audible. :D

May be I should sell the design to some Northern countries? Combined amp+room heater, no firewood is needed. I agree to remove GNFB to return back that -80 dB 2'nd order harmonic for your pleasure. ;)
