Not to mention two wolverines, two M2, four F5, one F4 and F3, bunch of F1J, three AlephJ, one VFet, J2 and more than dozen chipmonk permutations. Plus jlh, goldmunds and dartzeel clones...Everyone can realize their very own Beelzebub, improvements of any kind can be made according to their own taste, so that their own Beelzebub is the world's best 25W class A audio amplifier.
My initial idea can be found in this thread as well as lineup's 1st recommendation.
Adason has agreed to do a comparison with his Nirvanas, which of course is only possible if Adason gets himself a Beelzebub (which he has to bring to life himself) ..!
That's all I'm going to get into on this subject 😉.
Better or worse is always in the eye of the beholder - the function is there, what more do we want(?).
greetings,
HBt.
Wolverines will be hard to beat in purity and accuracy. Musicality is different phenomenon.
I like your 'cocky little bastard' confidence that beelzebub is best of all. To rule them all. You built it in 2005, which makes it almost 20 years old design. Are you saying nothing beat it since 2005?
I just spent half a day listening to 3 watts se 6l6 amp with 0.1% distortion. Could beat them all. Or not.

I immediately believe you - the design is also outstanding.Wolverines will be hard to beat in purity and accuracy. Musicality is different phenomenon.
Rattling is part of the trade, and every now and then you can put your finger in the wound - and twist it.I like your 'cocky little bastard' confidence that beelzebub is best of all. To rule them all.
Oh dear, the original 2005 design has already been beaten a million times over and could claim a maximum of 10W. Incidentally, I am a strict advocate of the blameless concept /recipe formulated by Douglas Self. You built it in 2005, which makes it almost 20 years old design. In addition to the technically complex solutions to a problem, I am always interested in the comparison with the simplest implementation - sometimes I am simply fascinated by a concept or an idea.
Either a thing has charm, then it interests me, or it is boring (without any charm or aspiration). Unpretentiousness is the worst evil - I'll leave my definition open.
So yes, I like Beelzebub very much, it has charm and it will work perfectly and provide listening pleasure and (malicious) joy.
Either you build one or you don't.
We seem to be going round in circles again - chased by Beelzebub.

Who feels called upon to create a PCB? However, if you have dozens of amplifiers on the shelf, you don't really need another audio amplifier - maybe an additional living room heater, which Beelzebub can do excellently - bringing fire into the living room, directly from the forecourt of hell.
Each user may have their own association with the /this small, evil, class A amplifier (to beat or bite Nirvana's alpha).

For me it is very rarely (more then) 2Wrms.I just spent half a day listening to 3 watts se 6l6 amp with 0.1% distortion. Could beat them all. Or not.
For testing purposes, it's a very simple schematic which can be built point to point. Wish i had time atm, but maybe in the future as part of the planned diy community project.Who feels called upon to create a PCB
I find it really boring listening to sinewaves, 2 watt rms???? Even white noise has more character. I guess it will not be 2 watt rms anymoreFor me it is very rarely (more then) 2Wrms.

To be completely honest and sincere, when I listen to music, my system (brain) always automatically shows me Fourier series so that I can start an analysis and synthesis.
😉
So I can then also get very well involved with the FM station noise.
All joking aside:
it's far too hot here for me to think or tinker (34° Celsius in the shade, no air-conditioning, but open-air culture).
Ohhh, wait - that's cheating!!Some ideas?
Sticking majestic eagle wings to the "lord if the flies" (beelzebub) and using vector graphics to get a nice sharp logo!!
(Just kidding - looking great!)
But I still have a little treat, just observed and verified:
The new Musical Fidelity A1 (CEO Heinz L. Geniestreich) is standing on a small pedestal in front of me. A pedestal is important, or a shrine. It's just standing there to look at (or worship?) - Beelzebub will blow it away, but we're not there yet! Heated / brought back to life for 20 minutes, 52°C lid temperature at 27°C room temperature in the morning. My wife burnt her hand ... So until winter, this little squire is only allowed to be adored, understandably, it's too warm - at least for us humans, Beelzebub is not a human being.
But what goes on in the presence of his majesty, the prince of darkness? Ok, an A1 is not evil, rather harmless, but my point is observation - as follows ...
All of a sudden, my 38-year-old Technics SU-V50 plays with a finesse that is second to none, and my Kenwood KT-1100 also gets the best out of the loudness-maximized canned mush.
Well,
such a pedestal or shrine - spurs the hi-fi family on to top performance.

Who would have thought that a logo could trigger so much motivation and joy - now I'm looking forward to the coming winter and I'm already confident that the first European Beelzebub's will outstrip the Nirvana's.
The bar is high - but together we are raising it higher and heat them up.

Couldn't the potential logo do with a bit of dynamism and bite? Perhaps not a housefly, but a kind of bulldog with a touch of purgatory.
But I also like the fly, as a small, evil master of demons. The double B of the wings is too pronounced for my taste and perhaps a 3/4 ring of fire is more emphasizing.
Greetings,
HBt.
(let's not shelve /or forget this exciting project, but realize it in the winter months - courageous people forge ahead)

WhyYes. Then this thread can be moved to the lounge.
