Beelzebub: 25 Watt for 8 Ohms

So you built it in 2005 then?
A little bit different, but yes, with the first result of limiting the maximum symmetrical swing and after the fix there was suddenly a 2.2MHz sawtooth oscillator.
But, the front end also differed significantly, an LTP with high gain and an impedance converter ...

Beelzebub follows the /this principle and the concept, is downsized and deliberately somewhat simpler than, for example, an Aleph by Nelson Pass (who of course originally inspired it /me).
 
I have changed a bit.
1. Increase the gain. Now is x16.
2. Using darlington VAS. With 2 transistors that is.
3. Decoupling the input. With one capacitor.

THD is now 0.0008%
Thanks to the darlington VAS, which improves distortion with 12 dB.

This should be built. I like that its based on available parts. If someone makes a board, i volunteer to test it. Got AN39 (two) to compare it to.
 
You can place a bootstrap on the output if you like and increase the output swing by a volt or two. I built this thing in the 90s and when I got a simulator, I was quite surprised by the results. Topology is lowly similar, and still working today as my desktop amp.
 
Real 25 pushpull class A watts into 8 ohms with impressive sound potential - here's a really quick thought, what do we all think?

Quick to set up and completely uncomplicated - it's supposed to be the Beelzebub.

Guess that you like to exhumate some weird designs, this one look like a 60s botched design from Siemens
that has inverted polarity transistors in respect of this one and wich is class AB rather than A.

If you want to build, or rebuild, such a design i would advice to use BC141/161 instead of BD139/140,
and of course good luck with this new adventure with this hot and a hell of an amplifier, remember,
errare humanum est, perseverare diabolicum.
