while you are there , increase R5 to 15K , decrease VR1 to 5K (max 10K)
🙂
copy... 😉
That’s a good looking PCB layout. This will be a fun project and a nice amp to listen to.
I would suggest changing the two 0.68 Ohm resistors to 0.56 Ohms. That should raise the bias current to about 1.6 Amps. The IRFP150s will sound better with higher bias.
R4 should probably be increased to 15k.
thanks, noted...
Tony, did you end up building the 48v version of the ACA?
Thanks
yes i did...it was awesome to say the least....i am hooked...
i used 4 off 48vdc/4A power bricks, one each channel...
IRFP150 as recommended by Zen Mod..
chassis from AliExpress...
boards from JLPCB....

Nice one Tony!
Using 48V, what's the power wattage output you get ?
If you're using passive cooling, don't your heatsinks get too hot in the Philippines?
I've built the standard 19V version. It's nice, but it's not powerful enough. I might try to run it at 24V, but I'm curious about 48V.

it does get hot, but once it reaches a certain hotness, it stays there....
i have not measured power, but 30 watts i reckon is easy...

Just trying to tease our audiophile friend Tony. You know the drill, cheapskates like me will sim 2a3 but use nice (but nobody wants) sweep tubes like the pl36, e235l, 6bq6gt, 6av5gt, 6p31s and the likes. 😉
