for predictable outcome , one needs THD spectra monitoring apparatus , to set balanced arrangement according to own needs
THD can be practically anything , because symmetry (between two halves) is easy to disturb , in whatever direction needed

But what will be happen to second harmonics?
It will sound wonderful. 😀😀😀
If you read the various articles and manuals (about anything/everything) that Nelson as written over the many years, he always has said that the active devices make all the big difference to the sound of the amplifier/preamp.
The NuTube has a (beguilingly beautiful and very pleasant) sonic signature that will not be substantially changed if used balanced and some of the common mode bits get canceled.
I.E., don't worry about it.
You say build conforms to xmas schematic but:
1) It appears you used the 1K gate stopper resistor between the Korg plate and the output JFET, as found on the PCB. If following the schematic, would it not be be a jumper instead?
2) It's hard to read the band colors in the photo for the post-output cap resistors. Are they the PCB values or the schematic values?
I can't definitively answer that because Nelson stuffed that particular PCB. When I get to making the stuffing photos the resistors will be my preferred Dale CMF/RN series that have the values printed on the sides. (I don't care for modern banded resistors personally, the blue or green backgrounds make reading the colors difficult. Somebody needs to make them with a white background... 🙂 )
Gyuri - As I was trying to explain, the NuTube is so heavy with 2nd harmonic that making balanced won't make much, if any difference. And anyway, if you want more 2nd, merely turn the volume up. (Look at the distortion curves vs. output in Nelson's article)
I know a guy who sells a phase inverting switch for a balanced preamp! And another guy that has one he cant use yet.
See! I wasn't totally wrong.....just premature and mostly wrong 😀

RIGHT EU PEOPLES!!!
RS have kindly donated a carton Nu-Tubes for us... So any EU bods who want a tube, please PM me, I will work out postage costs and let you know what you owe. They are not in stock until the 13th of Feb and they then need to get to me for distribution.
In return they have asked for a project on DesignSpark which I will write up and they would like users to join their designspark community:
https://www.rs-online.com/designspark/home
Nelson has kindly let me reproduce his project on RS for this which I'm very grateful for, so we can get some freebie tubes in return.
So I'm off to clear my inbox for the deluge of people wanting nu-tubes 🙂

I like your choice for resistors because I'm colorblind. I can see if two resistors have the same color bands, but I can't begin to tell you what those colors are. Makes DIY a bit of a problem.
Could be. I have no idea.
Goldpoint attenuators are incredibly nice - Prices
And they should be at 10x the price.
And I don't even like step attenuators. I used to own a cheaper one and I could never find precisley the right step. Then I accidently dropped a horn on it and also crushed an EL84 tube amp. Problem solved.

That's phantastic, Puggie! Thank you so much!
For the German guys (8 people) you could sent them to qwertyl, he has not sent the boards to us yet or to Difool. But Difool will contact you via PM.
