Perhaps no consciously, but unconsciously yes. Don't you drive cars, cook, use electric energy? Well, in the back of all those common tasks, oxygen is converted into CO² and heat, both radiated to the atmosphere. So we all are small guilty of this situation, Australians and not Australians. We are destroying our planet. Certainly, ones in more quantity and more quickly than others.
This is comment that a professor in university I graduated in Electronic Engineer told in a class: while the Earth converted sun energy, carbon dioxide and other products into a more complex substances, like chlorophyll and the like, accumulating energy during million of years, humans has inverted the situation returning the energy and CO² in only two centuries, a second in global times. So, the Earth became unable to recover equilibrium under this sudden changes of situation.

Australian police has arrested 183 arsonists.
I know this is unwanted information in the climate religion but facts are facts.

Did you know that coal is now Australia's most valuable export?
Australia, like many countries, must balance the needs of its economy and its labour force with its desire to reduce its contributions to climate change.
Were you around for the Great Smog of London in December 1952?I can remember as a kid in London and those thick yellow smogs
That was a proper pea-souper!

1. The source for this information is missing.
If the number 183 comes fom "thepostmillennial":
thepostmillennial is a fake news page, which is on the blacklist in many forums.
2. its not a religion, its scienes
3. Maybe you can ask here in the forum the members from Australia, how hot it is there in the last weeks
I think you are very cynical, if a complete continent is burning and people are dying, because it is the hottest summer there of all times and you claim climate change does not exist.

So, you're not aware of the Internet Cloud's dirty secret? 😉
Today, data centres consume about 2% of electricity worldwide; that could rise to 8% of the global total by 2030.
U.S. data centres consumed 70 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in 2014, the same amount that 6.4 million American homes used that year.
The Internet Cloud'''s Dirty Secret: It Consumes Tons of Energy, Has Large Carbon Footprint | Fortune
Holy crap! I knew the "Internet" consumes "a lot" of energy, but I had no clue.
The internet What's the carbon footprint of … the internet? | Environment | The Guardian : "... the internet releases around 300m tonnes of CO2 as much as all the coal, oil and gas burned in Turkey or Poland in one year, or more than half of those burned in the UK."
Aviation Environmental impact of aviation - Wikipedia: "In 2018, CO2 emissions totalled 747 million tonnes for passenger transport..."
If I got this right, the internet is almost half of aviation! 😱
I hate how apparently everything we do is bad for the planet, and the effects are not where people do those things. If surf the web in Europe, I am guilty for what is happening in Australia.

Personally I did nothing to Australia, some of the Australians themselves created what has happened and still is happening there. 183 of them to be precise.
It has little to do with climate stuff.
Sorry, while there have been a large number of police arrests in Queensland and New South Wales for fire related issues, most of the currently burning fires in NSW and Victoria were all started by lightning just before Christmas. The fires have burned vast amounts of areas because those areas are dry from lack of rain in the past year or more. This has been known by everyone for a long time with numerous warnings about what could happen and what has happened. There is no surprise in any of this, at least for those who know and who paid attention. The only fortunate thing is that there has been little loss of human life thus far, though there has been large loss of life in the animal communities, both wild and domestic.
This is not the time to debate climate issues, either way. Unfortunately that is being done everywhere, and even now on diyaudio. Sad.
Nobody really seems to care about the fires and putting them out. It's all about the climate debate, one way or another. And everyone is an expert.
I am a retired wildland fireman with 30 years experience in the US in all aspects of wildland fire. Unlike others commenting in this thread I am a first hand expert in wildland fire. I now live in Victoria Australia. Put out the fires first.
Here are some links to some articles on arson in Australia that predate the current social media frenzy:
Australian fires: Why do people start fires during fires? - BBC News
Dozens of firebugs blamed for destructive Queensland fires
Sad.
You quoted my post. Did you find my post sad?
Or just the topic of 10 million acres on fire in Australia?

You should make sure your "facts" are from reliable sources.
Victoria fires: Police say arson not to blame for fires, dismiss social media campaign
This is getting a bit surreal in some ways.
While there have been 183 arrests for fire related offense in the past couple of months, that does not mean there have been 183 arson arrests, and there is a big difference, see the below article from the Sydney Morning Herald.
NSW fires: 183 people charged by NSW Police this bushfire season
The fires in northeast Victoria and southern NSW were all lightning starts in remote areas in late November and December, from the link in the previous post.
FWIW, lightning strikes are recorded by lightning detection systems. It is fairly easy to determine if a fire is lightning caused or not. All fire dispatch centers have these systems and the lightning is recorded in real time with reasonably accurate coordinates.

I fully agree with your post. You quoted my post. Did you find my post sad?

I am well aware of what is going on in NSW.
Sad are the losses in Australia.
Sad is the worldwide excitement riding on it.

Unfortunately it is the way of the world. Media likes headlines, and often twists the meaning to get you to read. Social media is at another level and I wouldn't believe anything I read there.
Even the figure of 24 arrested for deliberately lighting bushfires is alarming though.
Tony.

Yes it's all a bit of sad ongoing story.
But it's not the first time.............
Most everyone in Victoria remembers Black Saturday February 2009, 173 dead in one Saturday afternoon, thousands of homes burned and fires for 2 months afterwards.
Going back a little further and before I lived here is Ash Wednesday 1983.
I remember my dad telling my about the horseshoe fire in 1968 around Mt Yarrahapinni Near Macksville NSW. He said there were 200 ft flames and when it was over there was not a single tree left standing, just bare hills as far as you could see (there was a lot of erosion after the fires). Go there now (even in the mid to late 70's when I was living in the area) and you would never know it had been completely razed.
I don't know of any loss of life or property with that fire, but I do know that my dad said it was pretty terrifying.
Tony.

Also the ABC has another update on the causes of the fires. The truth about Australia's fires — arsonists aren't responsible for many this season - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
Tony.
Tony.
Fires are a natural phenomenen.
Usually caused by dry vegetation and lightning.
The only way to protect from them is remove vegetation around homes etc.
