If the DPS-500/S-64V have the same audio characteristics and are reliable then of course I confirm!
I'm trusting on audio-power's quality testing before the units are send of to the customers 😉.
Does the DPS-500/S-64V + frame have the same dimensions as the DA version? (drop in replacement)

Hi Guys,
To clarify, after various versions and accessories changed along the thread.

I show you the "Red Power-Unit," Already we know the special green (as coming, on AudioPower new products)
As default, it is green, but I can change in this version for diy, with some balck or red if you want.

As visible on pcb, the DPS-500-xx uses same PCB.
the "S" version, uses the special trafo (and others components) as described in the datasheet of the "S" version "and some components, both within the Power-Unit.
Therefore, the performances are identical, only changes the power. (output and dissipation)

In simple words, this is the "S" version dedicated to amateurs, with Nichicon set output caps, changed. (as "DA" version). no other.
The difference is remarkable, considering that the "S" version, can push safely, 1 ch class AB amp, with 4 mosfets per side.

The prices same as "DA" for reason I have already explained, this means that I can not hold long this GB open at this price.
I think that is obvious. then the GB closed 10/05/2014.

The product is guaranteed for two years (full parts). AudioPower is informed of this gb. the products includes the S/N and date.

Each company has its own philosophy . we play in "prestige" ...we try 🙂
then , all products are fitted with the same components , both active to passive ( resistors included) , this means a complete different management and investment.
then , closed the project with high voltage Rubycon caps for example , That means to have all Rubycon 105 ° , same lot of production . applied , to all others components.

The NGR32 (special trafo on DPS-500/S)

Hi guys ,
I can show good recording data, 3ch (temperature of transformer , heatsink , and output current on load) for two hours of acquisition. but I thought well, to show the special transformer , which is used in the "S" version of the DPS -500.
This also, allows people with little knowledge in the field of ferrites, or with zero knowledge , to look at a table for ferrites "EE" , to see if this is greater than EE65 , in a simple way , considering that the first parameter to choose the power of a transformer , it is just the volume of the ferrite .

I can not show the two pages of the parameters of this transformer .

In 2007, I designed this new transformer , need for special uses in other sectors, whereas we got 2Kw , with 28mm of height and space, as you can see. or , depending how it is used , it allows incredible power of up to 4kW each, in series parallel configuration also . or ultra-low temperatures ( around 4 ° C of delta) for other special compact applications,etc,etc.

I know well that the members in the list , have no doubts about what I have presented so far about the DPS -500 , Measures included.

I plan to refer to false and stupid technical gentlemen. who spends his life , in copy, instead of studying.

Permeability,dimensions ratio and materials, absolutely exclusive , as the property of MDI laboratory .

Well,
I'm sure you love the sound by the DPS-500/DA.
Also, the ratio from Vcc rail to power Audio output. offer by 500 series, is the absolute highest ever achieved (in continuos SIN from 60Hz to 20Khz).

Just to clarify, with all the chaos that surrounds these smps for Audio. 😛

This version uses the fast stage regulator, already used on our dps-500S but with a new concept of differential regulation.
In a nutshell, you can fix a output voltage, eg 62V, this is absolutely fixed voltage (Vs the AC line changes) later, the control circuit operates with a differentiated calculation of, the required current, and voltage set internally, as ref. the regulator acts within this range.

So we have:
