Thats pure thread crap.I'm not doubting that you've perceived something. The debate is about what caused it. For digital audio components these days, it's typically the listening level mismatch between devices compared that caused it. Other common causes are expectation, power of suggestion and personal mood at the time.
I just posted the final clock blog.
it covers the Andrea Mori clocks with and without doublers and the Ian Canada SinePi and ReclockPi as well
have a nice read 🙂

Thanks Doede. Very nicely laid out. Interesting to get your read on the impact of doublers.
Great to have a place to read about subjective sound impressions without an inquisition. Also worth noting that one could be very happy with any one of these permutations and combinations. Very cool that you built something where you can have it all.

Thanks Walter, yes one of the reasons for my own blog is exactly what you mentioned. For me it is also a better and safer place to document my write ups…. Here in the forum, it is more to just „communicate“
Hello,
Yes, Doede's blog contains useful information and the DDDAC thread here offered guidance for those that needed that. Points of view were respected.
Nowadays the right information is hard to find. Makes it easier to just stop making new investments.
Greetings, Eduard

Thanks Doede, quite a construction you have there! I have enjoyed following your work for many years and this series about clocks has been fascinating - as wlowes says, particularly this last chapter with the doubler comparisons.
I am continuing to work through the issues I'm having using the SinePI with the McDualXO board.
Following previous unsuccessful tests, I wanted to narrow down where the fault might lie. So, I connected the SinePI to my FifoPI Q3. This worked perfectly. It located the clock source and complained when I played a track at the wrong sample rate - perfect.
So, as far as I can tell, there is an incompatibility between the McDualXO and the SinePI even with R28 and R31 shorted.
Has anyone else got the SinePI working with the McDualXO?
@iancanada any ideas about what I can try next?
Many thanks,
Crom

Hello Crom,
It seems Ian is to busy or ill at this time. I was promised to get some answers this weekend but nothing happened so you need to be patient.
Greetings, eduard

Always patient, this is a hobby after all ;-)
Thanks for the heads up Eduard and I hope you feel better soon Ian!

Thanks Doede,
I followed your blog over time with great interest. Thanks for your contributions to our interesting hobby. Nice to read your comparison of doublers with 176 HiRes and 44.1 redbook . It looks like more or less the same subjective expirience as I have with the Ian stuff combined with 5,6 Mhz Andrea Clock for redbook whereas the 22,5 Mhz Andrea Clock is very nice on HiRes. Looking forward to your diy switch with superclocks 🙂 one day.

I am not planning this, but if I get enough request I could make a few boards for clock owners of course. Not total chassis obviously, LOL

Hello,
received my Maxwell Supercaps with balancing boards. Now I would like to assemble my UcPure.
First: how to discharge the Caps "fully" best? They read about 0,2 each.
Should balance board be used or are there reason for not using it?
Thx
Branko

You should use the balance boards in your project. I dont feel 0.2v is a worry at all. Mine had a small voltage as well and no issues when i built mine.
As always be very careful when working with these and not to cause a short circuit

Hi Doede,
Thank you so much for sharing the project. It's awesome and very well implemented. Even the cases are pretty high-end, not to mention the sound quality. That's really great.
I'm still working on my DDDAC project though it's a little be slower than I expected. Doede's blog would be helps.
I'm struggling to get use to this new DiyAudio UI. I miss the old style 🙂
Regards,
Ian
Ian, you have found the buttons to change the UI on the new forum to 'Classic' and 'full width'? this helps. I'm still not sure I like it, but that helped quite a bit for desktop use; not so much wasted space.
Nifty @InspectorGadget took me a while to find them but much improved - thank you.
