The cnc upgrade continues...

Control box received a large overhaul. Virtually everything replaced and now running top of the line digital stepper drivers along with dual 75v PSU's. Also features a relay operated safety and control system with 24v home switches and limits, tool height probe, spindle start/stop and coolant pump on/off control.

More jobs done like the home switches, sliding doors and the rewire is finally complete(*#&! of a job! Will be glad if I never have to strip another wire in my life!).

Only the spindle plumbing and refit the x axis screws left.

WOW! 😱 🙂

That's quite a difference with the control box.. from something home-brew to a thoroughly pro layout (..actually well beyond what you often find). Reminds me of some of the best enthusiast computer builds out there.

I'm starting to think your loosing a lot of pounds on this build, and I don't mean personal weight. 😀

Thanks qusp, Scott

I'm starting to think your loosing a lot of pounds on this build, and I don't mean personal weight. 😀

Its cost about an extra £1000 on top of what I paid for the machine but that's not what irks me. Its the hours spent and down time. Still the experience has had its benefits too. You gleam a lot of knowledge on the inner workings of these things and that can only be of help when it comes to maintenance, setup and troubleshooting.

Oh and I've lost some weight too. Need to get fit in preparation for pushing 'run program' on the keyboard!
