Curt and I both thought the Anthology II's are an overall improvement over the Statement's II. The reality is, the drivers for all the various Statements designs, Finalists and others that Curt and Meniscus worked together on are no longer available which makes them all dead.
My comparison is, bass is the same, Anthology II mids are cleaner and more detailed without harshness and the tweeter is very clean and detailed, just not as "airy" ribbon sounding but more accurate in comparison. This is all based on having top notch front end electronics to feed them plus very good recordings.
That's my opinion based on 100's of hours of listening.

Very nice! How do they compare to the Bordeaux? So are you planning on doing a Bordeaux II someday? I remember you made the top cabinets modular so you would be able to mess with different top cab designs.
The Bordeaux are still the best sounding speaker I own. I made the top cabinet modular in case I didn't care for the Accuton/AMT combination. Obviously I do. However, the Bordeaux are also one of the designs Curt and I did together that some of the drivers have gone NLA. I love the way they sound so I have no intention of replacing them.
Sorry!

@Harry3
Have you already built the Statement II?
If I didn’t move overseas, I would have never sold it.
When I returned to Australia, I asked the buyer to sell it back to me. I offered it for the exact same price as I sold it for, and offered to pay for shipping.
Nope, was the answer. It must have been that good!
Objectively- the bass is the same. The Statement II has wider dispersion, and as I will shortly demonstrate, controlled directivity in the horizontal axis thanks to the wide baffle and the Fountek NedCD3.0 and small 4” midranges.
I think the difficulty of sourcing the Peerless/Tymphany NE drivers forced a redesign. But of course the SB15 range of drivers are great midranges, come in a range of different cones materials, and are widely available worldwide.
It’s hard to know whether you would prefer Statement II or Anthology II.
I haven’t heard the Anthology II, but if you have large and wide room, you might have a slight preference for the wide and controlled directivity and extended high frequency range of the NeoCD3.0 or AST2560 of the Statement II or Bordeaux respectively.
With the Fountek drivers coming back into stock at Madisound, who knows, there might be a Bordeaux II or Statement III!
Shoot me a message @jholtz if you’d like to go forward with this. I’ll get some NeoCD2.0 sent to you or Curt as a replacement for the AST2560.

I moved house and my Statement II's are partly assembled in the garage. I do have the Statement Monitors running in the bedroom.
I know there were production changes to the AST2560, but they are still available.
Is the Accuton midrange gone?

Before Meniscus shut down, the Bordeaux kit was an off-the-menu item. They would test the tweeters for each kit. But that is time-consuming.
You can probably purchase the parts and buid it. But it would be good to confirm the tweeters are of the appropriate specs.
I miss meniscus. They were always great to work with.

The Accuton mid now lists for $557 Canadian each at Solen. Madisound no longer lists them but are probably available special order. The AST2560's were a problem. Aurum Cantus changed the driver design without publishing it which made a big change in the crossover. Curt worked with some of the new builders and came up with one that measured well but then Meniscus ran into consistence issues and finally gave up.I know there were production changes to the AST2560, but they are still available.

A very depressing turn of events for what I consider a premium design.

A new version with the Purifi aluminium midrange and some nice ribbon (Raal 70-20?) maybe?
Am I to understand that the Anthology and the Anthology II use the same enclosure dimensions.
It looks like it from the plans on the website. But I just want to verify. I may be missing something when comparing the diagrams on the site.
I was thinking of getting some flat packs from https://www.speakerhardware.com/, but they only have Anthology flat packs listed.
Also, should I also assume that Bordeaux is kind of a dead design due to driver changes.
Just was some definitive confirmation.
Thanks!

I've been travelling since mid February and just ran across your question.
Yes, the Anthology and Anthology II both use the same cabinet and all dimensions are the same except for the recess cutout for the SB tweeter is 4".
Yes, the Bordeaux are no longer available due to driver changes and availability that made the design NLA.
Sorry for the delay in response.

I'm potentially interested in building a pair of the Anthology ll's. Is there a newer BOM available? I can only find the original for the Anthology on the speaker design works site.
Well the Anthology II has just respawned at Madisound...

You have sharp eyes my friend! I didn't know that Curt was working with Madisound on this design. Excellent!

Is there a new design for the Anthology 2? I found a design on another site, but would like to see the most up to date crossover and cab plans. Can anyone help? Thanks
