Hello Bas,
With choke input you can create a supply with lower dcr and the 150 ohm there for are not needed. They could make things worse.
Where is the bleeder resistor?
I think 180 as first cap even after a choke is to big.
Why is the B+ from that cap not going directly into the primary of the output transformer. What is the function of the 220 ohm. Feedback.?
Greetings,Eduard

R1=220 Ohm. Just an RC extra to bring down ripple. I don't have enough space for chokes.
So it's LC both channels
RC for each channel
PS the current draw by the resistor after the choke is in I1.

Hello,
The solid state diodes can also have a negative impact on the sound.
Did you calculate the TC as shown in the French publication?
It could be that switching the first and the second cap will give better results.
Because the cap is far away it looks like there is no cap and just the 220 ohm.
Sound still improving?

Only listened for 5 minutes. Family is home. Went to Gym. I'm busy in my computer/hobby room planning my next amps.
Havent read the french dude's stuff yet.

Bastanis Prometheus. (It used to be a kit) The baffle is one's own contribution. I made it a bit wider than spec and made the woofer hole in golden ratio.
- Bas what r your speakers?

He seems no longer in the kit business.
Yes I recognised that sound signature from when I listened and finally bought my turntable.

HI Eduard, sent you a PM regarding your sandfilled Altec cabinets - can you please check? Thanks
I have an intermittent problem on my preamp. A hum that is from complete silence to very loud. So I was pretty tired of trying to solve problems. So I switched my system off this weekend. And I did something that gives me energy. Building 2 new projects. But will get the courage to pick it up this week. And will report back.Hello Bas,
No new developments?
Greetings, Eduard

hello Bas:
Did you ever get this sorted out?
You kind of left us hanging?
Any chance of an up date?

I'm sorry! In my mind I reporterd back. The issue with the amp in this thread was solved when I connected the top chassis plate with ground. My preamp issue I also solved. The voltage in was too low coming in for what I had going out. So when I dialed down the voltage out with 10-20v I never got the noise back.
But the amp in this thread I still have to rebuild...Will report back.

Because it is still noisier than my other amps because of all the debugging. But the amp in this thread I still have to rebuild...Will report back.
