And what did we buy today?

Can never have too many spares...

Not exactly today but I got myself a 3D printer and it arrived last week, an Ender-3.

3d printing opens up so many possibilities. The other day, for example, I downloaded and printed a kitty litter scoop [emoji28]

A friend (pusher?) loaned me a small "toy" one, and ever since, I'm hooked. Here are some audio related parts I printed on that one. I'll redo them a bit nicer now I've got the new printer and some black filament. I may even have a go at ABS.

Mostly car stuff.

MAX232 chips to make a true RS-232 to USB converter.

Got a great deal on a OBD2 reader on Ali's Brands sale; I think they are actually trying to let the purchase expire because of the great price. Hopefully it will do ABS and SRS codes as well as OBD2 proper.

Nylon washers to fix the Vette seat.

Relays to fix the Vette door lock controller.

Receiver hitch for Vette.

My mother firmly believed that vaccination caused autism, boy was she wrong.

Anyway after i turned 18 i got them anyway, and i asked the doc "So, i heard vaccines cause autism, will it get any worse? " Should have seen the look on the doc's face.

I also got a big box of 1K ziplock bags, so i can get rid of some of my electronics hoard.

Yeah, anti-vaxxers, they're everywhere.

Finally got it because my wife's uncle recently caught it, plus just thought "uh oh, it's Sep already, line ups for flu shots will be soon".

Wasn't cheap though, even being covered by my wife's insurance it was $50, and I guess the 2nd shot will be another $50.

Imagine my discontent having to pay childhood vaccinations out of pocket instead of getting them for free from the health service as a child. Well i got some for free from the municipal health service, thanks to them i wont be turning into Homer Simpson anytime soon.

Im gonna put in an order with JLC tonight for about 50 or so PCB's. Mostly heater regulators for DHT's and a proto board for a 450V output flyback.

Yeah, that would be frustrating, the expense is one thing, but the idea of sending kids into the viral cesspools that schools and childcare are unvaccinated is crazy.

We have some friends that are anti-vaxxers. It was a riot a couple of years ago because they insisted another friend's boy, who had been vaccinated, could not be in the same house because the pseudoscience said the vaccinated boy's stool was contagious.

Speakers for my fun 2.1 office rig. Oh boy it was a bad idea to think that Modecom company got better and can do serious product/competition to companies like Genius, which went downhill too. Modecom MC-HF50: DO NOT buy it. It has large drivers for its class, they're somewhat borderline usable and better than Genius, but oh biy, there are so many serious issues with this product, that it is not funny. I will throw everything inside the box out except for drivers, and will have to make it all new and working as expected. Amp, corrections, port, crossover....

All the stuff I got was TH... Mostly metallized polypropylene caps. Mostly 1kV rated.

Some of the parts I'll be testing will be from Kyet. 薄膜电容-安规电容-陶瓷电容-压敏电阻-kyet科雅电子-东莞市科雅电子科技有限公司

I will compare them to 715P Orange drops and other caps costing hundreds of times as much to see how they stack up 🙂

I'm especially interested to see how these KYET|KYET MKP20106J2EAC461625|CBB Capacitors(polypropylene film)|LCSC stack up against the Kemet parts I use now.
