My pre-school pictures are all black and white. 🙂
The lower back grumbles about curved saddles these days, putting me on the roller coaster of buy and try. 🙁
I got one of these for my 74 year old dad... He says it's much more comfortable than the stock seat.

DAWAY Most Comfortable Bike Seat - C30 Oversized Extra Wide Exercise Bicycle Saddle, Universal Fit for Road, Spin, Stationary, Mountain, Cruiser Bikes, Gift for Men Women Senior, Soft Foam Padded: Amazon.ca: Sports & Outdoors

If you have prime, you can order it, try it, and return it if you don't like it.

The focusrite 2i2 lives! I desoldered the dac chip last weekend, and with a bit of drama (managed to explode an electrolitic that was close to the chip) I've resoldered the new dac chip that focusrite sent me, and it is back in operation 😀

I think the noise and distortion performance may actually be better than before too!

Tony.

Yes balanced loop back out to in. output level was -10db input level less than unity I suspect since it is showing around -20db, but I didn't calibrate ARTA first.

Yeah it is interesting that it was the DAC that fried, unless it was the electrolitic that I accidentally blew up when trying to remove solder bridges, probably due to to much solder paste, which was causing the problem. I'm about to post some pics in the "what did you repair today thread" 🙂

Today, I designed my first PCB. A passive RIAA filter board. So I bought 200 boards LOL

It's 25mm by 50mm, is a topology that allows for any filter values needed. I included "standard" values on the artwork though.

Pending testing, I hope to offer it as a blank, a kit, or a complete build to anyone who wants one.

You know? That thought hadn't even occurred to me since I never build my own RIAA like that and I've always thought it was pointless. Do people still have quadraphonic recordings? CD-4 etc? This is the circuit I use. Besides, I won't charge audiophool prices, either!

I still have exactly one CD-4 record. The Doobie Brothers, The Captain and Me. I use it for tuning my turntable by adjusting it for best subcarrier output (equal phase and amplitude for each channel).

My CD-4 decoder disappeared sometime in the early 70's when I lived in a large house full of stoners. So did many of my good records, and a couple guitars, so I left that mess.

At that time I had a Fisher 601 quad receiver, two or three quad decoders, and a quad 8 track deck. The Teac 3440 wouldn't come until I lived in a more secure place in the late 70's.
