I have 11pF there right now. So 5pF may be too low. If you can swap out with 15pF and see if that sounds better.
well that did it the 15pf vs 5pf
Night and day difference👍

Great news. It’s an important value. Just 10pF makes a world of difference in certain places.
The only other thing I wonder should I change is I used the 100r gate stoppers on the board as well as on the snubber.
Should I remove and bridge the ones on the board or will make any difference
Seeing 200r total there vs 100r ?

It’s safer to run with 200R and I don’t really think changing to 100R will make an audible difference. But you are free to remove the ones on the main PCB and replace with wire jumpers.
Any of you guys tried 18pf on C126 and C115 on Nirvana we’re the Silver Mica or Cog go,
I wonder if that would give it a little warmer more laid back presentation vs the
15pf?
I noticed that is what was used on the Alpha 20 at that similar cap location.
Thanks

Hugh has said the best sound is to slowly make the cap value as small as possible and listen. Only can be done by ear. Stop before it becomes harsh and fatiguing.
So I pulled out my tube amps and did a side by side comparison of the amps. The tube amps are Pete Millets Uniamp with KT88 tubes. This was a special build with nice parts James transformers, Riken resistors, Black Gates coupling cap. The Alpa Nirvana hands down is a much better sounding amp with none of the tube fussiness. Of all my solid state amps it has the nicest tube sound without tubes.

The cat appears to have a different opinion 🤣the nicest tube sound without tubes
Wow Bill, this is great news.......
I like the way you conflate tube and SS, and you seem to say it's the best tube amp you have seen built with SS!
I have to say that over many years since the AKSA I have tried to design tube amp using only solid state actives.

Your car has an opinion on your audio setup? 🙂
The XSDs look like a nice match in your space. The cloth grill looks great.
Thanks for making this speaker - it was a long journey and you persevered.

Funny the cat has music preference, sometimes it plops its fat butt right in front of the speakers and just listen. It likes to curl up next to my dap in bed It knows it is special to me and it is warm as well.
