I've got a balanced preamp. Uses monoamps ear501 class d balanced to the balanced preamp.
Jesus .. I'm almost lost in the soundscape ... Wow you guys should just hear this.
The audio file speakers miniOnken with A10.2Maop do an incredibly good job. The better electronics you connect, the more they open up for improvement at all points. A big smile.
Tight and firm.
They have a soul that is hard to describe ... It sounds so right ..
amplification changed to EL156 10W single ended, DIY amp, DIY output tranformers on C cores (project, calculation, winding), interstage tranformers are Hashimoto A-105 .. S.E. output stage has cathode feedback for linearisation of already linear output stage.. this is serious sound for enjoying, fast, precise, direct, punchy, dynamic, never muddy, slow, thick, sometimes hypnotic (on higher volumes-pink floyd) ! asking for audiophile records.. Maop is still without any correction, and is in (too) big box 🙂

I was not so impressed by them. € 6000.

Thought a bit about the miniOnken.
I think it is a construction that located in between a closed and bass reflex bo. It has both benefits. Closed that gives fast bass and bf that gives deeper bass.
In between, so to speak.
A completely different sound than bass reflex. You will be surprised and it is a completely different speaker to listen to.
I do not care if it does not go so deep .. 50hz is enough ..
You have to try it.

Yes, sort of. The highR of the high-aspect ratio vents does push the reflex more towards aperiodic (a fully aperiodic box can be described as a leaky sealed box). It is still officially a vented box.
This is the affect that limits how low they go, one has to make some assumptions of what the vents do to the response, but many many iterations of the alignment have made that pretty standard. It has the side effect of typically smaller boxes.
The result is bass extention that cannot be reache din a sealed box, but still brings the tuneful bottom onse associates with a good sealed box.

How much room a set of MAOP 10. can fill depends a lot on how loud you play and how much auxiliary bass support you might have,

How i'm listening the driver close to clipping, loud, sometimes i hear also clipping (happening easy, this is not at insane volume, just at loud) i decided to add bass 12" to help this driver... and i'll remove bass task from MAOP 10, i think it would help a lot. Vintage Philips bombardon AD5201S 12" bass made from styrofoam, will be added in the game, expected first tests in march !
Actually MAOP when listen at normal volume not needed bass helper and not needed some complications, crossovers, filters, nothing. It makes it cheap/ excellent value/ at the end , because some crossovers are more expensive than the drivers! Here only 2 terminals and 2 wires needed/driver.
I will add to find use for poor unused but beautiful bombardons 12", which are looking from the shelf 10 years allready to other speakers playing in my room and when i look them they are starting to ask me "why did you bought us in the first place"!? 🙂 Also i will have excuse to build another amp for them and adjustable low pass filter for bass so i can add as much is needed, depending of the room gain!

For this purpose I can highly recommend the 6-24 analog crossover, which is adjustable to your needs.
