Tonight I finished assembling Mirand A1V12 in a new case (Cresnet SMPS Audio SMPS units for sale). And again I am very happy with this amplifier, it is my favorite in the AB class🙂 And this is the first time I have listened to it with Mirand DAC 1.2a, USBbridge sig, Sghanti. Exceptional! And many thanks to Sonny !!!
Nice setup as usual, just saw your post!

Cresnet can you recommend which of your products would work with the Mirand A1 V1.2
Hi Sonny,
Hope you're recovering well. I have sent an email, can you please provide an update on my pending order from last year.

Please resend it.Hi Sonny,
I have sent you an email in last year Dec.
Hi all - I have a Mirand A1 for sale at a good price. If you missed out on these this is a great chance to pickup the parts you need to build his best amp.
FS: Mirand A1 V1.2
FS: Mirand A1 V1.2
For anyone interested, i'm selling my sonny discrete preamp which is cased, with remote and LPS v2.1 included.
FS: SonnyA's discrete preamp with chassis, OLED & his PSU

I decided to keep the amp and finish the build... Thanks
Hello everyone,
Just a few questions about the Mirand A1 v1.2 amplifier.
- In the user manual, bias setup, do we reference J21 and J23 to GND when setting trimmer or do we measure across J21 and J23 and trim? What I've done was reference to GND but just want to make sure. Bias seems to jump +/-5mA continuously, is that a normal behavior? DC offset is perfect and sine wave output seems normal.
- What is the optimal input cap value 2.2uF / 3.3uF? Can we omit input cap?
- If using the XLR input board, the 3 pin input connector is not labelled with +/-/gnd, I found out that center pin is gnd by probing and looking at Vitalie's pictures (which was hard to see the connection), if looking at the PCB from the input side, from left to right, left being pin 1 for this scenario:
1 = (-) or cold
2 = (gnd)
3 = (+) or hot
Is that correct? There's no documentation for the XLR input PCB...
Thanks

Check your text in trim procedure part in manual! You don't mention J21-J23 but J21-J22

This might help solve some confusion.
Kind regards
Robert
Offset check with Green marking is correct. Between J22 and J24. It cannot pull 100% because the offset has a weak push/pull not to mask the sound too much.
J21 and J23 is bias. mV(J21-J23)/0.4=bias current in mA.

This might help from page 181 with other replies found there.
Kind regards,

Ok, makes more sense to measure accros emitter resistor. But manual is a little confusing...
Ok quite easy to check then.
Thanks
