Do not worry about availability of BMS 4554. Bms always does batch production. Takes some time then no problem again.

What we effectively do here is that we replace the existing 1.4" exit with a new one, having everything better (at least the linear stuff) -
Primer and water based paint should work. I used painters tape on the edges before glueing but the glue is not completely squeezed out. I used a knife to remove edges from printing. Maybe more pressure gives smaller seams but I was scared to destroy the petals. For measurements we must be patient for de peerless group buy.How do you plan to do the finish? Won't it be a problem with that glue?
Looking closely at the photo, the petals seem a bit far apart, more than I would expect - did you sand the sides before gluing? This is really necessary to do, as there will virtually always be some overruns at the corners, preventing the fit.
I'm very curious to see your measurements, especially how the region around 2 kHz comes out.
Looks very nice and naturally smooth which should be a good thing. My only attention is drawn to the inlet - a sharp aperture hoovering in space - trying to take in what ever goes on in that circular pressure chamber.... I cant to help to think that a more organic shape of that chamber / outlet should/could holds some potential for improvement. But now we are back to CD design.... No but in "front" of it - and here it actually penetrates / sticks into to it, and there is the compression chamber - its the interface between the chamber and the inlet I'm curious about...

I don't quite get it, to be honest. Are you familiar with the BMS phase plugs? What exactly would you like to see improved?

TBH, I generally just copy the locations and shape of the Danley SH50.
I tried various 'tap' shapes, and never noticed any huge difference, so I just stuck with what Danley does.
Reducing the volume of air inside the chamber DOES help, it extends the response.
I also generally prefer using a slot over a hole, for the midrange taps. Basically my logic is that a slot can have a larger area than a hole, because it can be made long and thin.
It's still sunny in Warsaw, so I thought I'd share 🙂
