Acoustic Horn Design – The Easy Way (Ath4)

In India, we get some of the Peerless drivers (including DFM 2535) here:
https://electrocarts.in/

Now they ship abroad too.. I got my Peerless CDs from this site. I have no affiliations with this site.
If anyone is interested, can contact the shop directly via above website.

120pcs avaiable 52$+100$ shipping plus taxes

And a quick ~0/10/20/30 deg set:

Shouldn't require a lot of EQ 🙂

BTW, A460G2 has been released.

Alternative?

DFM-2535 T520-25-STD
6BQ / 600Hz

BMS 4554-16 A520G2/36-STD-1
8 BQ / 600Hz
Will work much harder at LF

DFM-2544 A520G2-25-STD-1
7 BQ / 500Hz
Compromise HF vs Sensitivity to be found
Maybe better than DFM2535?

T520-ROSSO-STD
8BQ / 500Hz
Not too bad, with a DSP...

The DI of these at HF is touch high?

Maybe it's time for DE250 again. I also looked at RCF NDX495 / NDX595, Lavoce DF10.171M / DF10.171K, and of course some of the Faitals, that would need to be tested. But I don't expect any of these to be as smooth as the DFM-2535. Maybe also 18Sound ND1018BT.
I still need to try the HF108, as soon as I find it 🙂

If you haven't checked out the new B&C DH350 and DH450 I suggest you do. Based on how these are measuring on our new wave shaping devices it appears they produce a flatter wavefront at the exit than most other compression drivers. And they sound excellent too.

Sure, I'm looking forward to trying the DH450. DH350 didn't fully convince me yet but it will be interesting to try a wave shaper with two channels corresponding to their existing ones. Apparently, they did go to some lengths to make the two paths equal (not only path lengths but velocities as well). If that's true, my wave shaping plug should finally work as intended. That would be awesome.

Agreed, they should work well with your wave shaping plug. Below is a dual driver (DH450) on a 10 degree vertical Paraline lens and conical style horn with 10% smoothing.
