im am new to this and i got riped off in the beginning i bout a tv projector lens and plans for 29 on e-bay only to find out i could have got the lens for 15 at surplus shop then in my seaching i found this forums an aces plans now im not dumb but i am not the brites either i learn off of seeing it done like alot of people i think aces plans are good and not to much money and he has help alot of us out with our questions i meen look how large this forum is now i for one am plan on buying a set of plans and going from there keep up the good work ace and every one else just my 2 coppers

With that in mind. The "Front surface mirror" that you describe is it the same type as the big mirror in the back of a big screen TV?
I have one of these type mirrors and did not know if it is a front surface or what.

Acheive what? finnish my projector? lol imo you realy have some reading to catch up on in this thread, its been stated over and over again why its taking so long. I dont know what your game is about nor your paranoya,even your acusations, are you perhaps jelous? not my problem, that is somthing only you can deal with and has nothing to do with me or anyone else. If you dont like whats going on in this thread then dont come in, its that simple, its a free world and its the people's choice in what they do.

LOL, ya it should be the same, the way to tell if its front surface or not is to see if the shiny coating is on the top of the glass or behind it, with the silver coating on the top, its front surface mirror, in this design i dont use mirror any thicker then 3mm as it just adds weight, somthing we dont need. The 3mm is way strong enough for the size that we are using.

Darn slize, sorry to hear that, ill have to look up that link, ive got about 2k bookmarks in my explorer so it will take abit to find it again imo, i know sharp does a 6inch for about $800 lol, abit pricey, maybe we could get a price and maybe do a group buy abit latter on on one of these, xga native in a 6ich would be nice imo.
Regarding your email with the cold mirror, use it the same as if it was a front surface mirror, these are designed to run red hot, the shinny side goes to the light source and the glass side goes to the back, you will need somthing like a barrier that can take heat from the transmitted ir rays behind it so the heat doesnt damage other components. Heya cruser, so do i bud, it saves alot of time and money and you get your projector made faster, it works first time also. But like yourself im a perfectionist also, and im never satisfied lol, there is always things to improve on and new tech's to learn and employ in your design.

making their own projectors, usually to save money, at least for

makes it a better fit than a commercial projector for me.
That said, your comments are clearly not suited to this thread.
Stop wasting bandwidth and post in a place suitable. Maybe
you can make your own thread, call it "People and things that
bother me." That way Ace's projector will cease to be the all
consuming albatross that haunts your miserable " I think I'll join
a forum and pull other people apart" life.
Seriously, if it bothers you, dont read, or comment about it.
And recouping your costs or not, making money off projectors
is something you have done - at a higher level than Ace - so
your credibility is shot.
Just go back to being a participant, not a spoiler. I know you have
done much for the community. I wouldn't be the same without
you, but if you look at the forum now, you will see that forward
progress and innovation have all but ceased. Little new things
are being shown. Ace is one of the only people still contributing,
still showing progress, helping others out at an extremely
high rate.
So lets treat this like it's the DIY forum, not the DIMW (Do it

I´m in the process of building my second Pj (compact version) Sadly I cant afford a Lilliput right now to follow your plans, so I´ll use some parts from my first PJ (LCD, Light ) and replace some others.
I need a Front Surface Mirror, Par of Fresnels and a condenser lens.

Well just thought i would say hi to everyone, ive been busy with school and work and havent had time to post on the board for a while. First of all as i was getting cought up i read udovee's posts, and i just want to say that Ace is spot on on every thing he does, i have learned a lot of information not just from this thread but from alot of others, ace is always willing to help if you ask him. I am more than willing to spend the money on his plans (of course ill modify them to my needs but that is what diy is for), and im more than willing to buy them from him because
a) Ace spent the time and the money on desiging the pj and making it work.
b) He is willing to help anyone who wants to take the time to listen to him
Now if i just can get my money in order ill build my pj lol. Again just watned to say hi and hope everyone has a great night.

I love your plans, once you finish. It would be nice if you made a web site and made step by step plans. It would be alot more organised than this forum cuz it would only be what you say.

The condensers should come in today and the reflectors i do have in stock, ill be sure to keep you guys posted on their status and the emails that have been sent to me are in a que and you guys will get the parts that arive first. All other emails that have questions ect will be answerd tonight and tomorrow, sorry guys for the delay. In the mean time im doing work on the projector, im about to make a new light box and finalise the design for the lcd unit, the new payramid is done and works well, ill post up some progress pics soon.

Heya buddy very nice results, cams dont do it justice though, its way much better in real life, ive probally got a better idea on what your results are like in real life as we are using the same panel, but i would have thought the 250w would have been abit brighter though even with the cams loss of light.

Heya buddy, there will be a web site and a dedicated forum for the technical support on the plans, the people who have the plans will have back door access to technical help and support, live updates on fixes (if there is any need for any) and a place to show off your progress. There will be 3 people with thier projectors in this forum, you will just have to wait and see who they are lol. This isnt to try and dragg people away from this place btw, this is for a technical support, and a place for you guys to help each other out in construction, parts finding ect in your country, to learn from me and each other all about this model to help make things easier.
The plans will be step by step as each part is numberd and acociated to a plan and the plan to the acociated guide.
