The truth pleases that the buzz of Chinese transformers won. Absolutely quiet inside the amplifier.
I set half the volume on the pre-amplifier (if the music is through it), I adjust the rest on the A60 from the remote control, or if from the DAC directly to the power amplifier, the sound changes smoothly with any connection. Something is wrong with the input to the A60 +, Berlusconi gave some kind of recommendation.
Add the height of the transistor with legs.😉Thank you. Are these the boards themselves? And together with the protruding transistors, how much does it turn out?
Anybody have trouble with Aliexpress USA? I've tried to place a few orders and didn't get through? I was paying with Paypal. Anyway is it me ? or Aliexpress?
@crispycircuit
Aliexpress uses their own payment system and you don't need PayPal. Just create your account at Aliexpress. They charge you from your creditcard and retain the money untill you confirm receipt. Then the seller gets the money, not before. I must admitt I was sceptical initially, but Aliexpress is safe and in my opinion much better than Ebay. Deliveries are rather quick but make sure you use Aliexpress Standard Shipping Method. China Post is somewhat cheaper but horrible.

Thx for the fast reply. Well, not sure I trust this style of payment.. But the web site does give Paypal as an option which I tried and didn't work. Crazy !

... Aliexpress is better than Paypal and Ebay together. Aliexpress wouldn't risk their relutation for stealiing few bucks from you. They're serious and bigger than that. But decision isyours, your money belongs to you. I've abandoned Ebay alltogether.

What if they get hacked Or let your card info leak out? It seems like a good target to hack. You read everyday of hackers gaining access to files. But I'm glad your OK.
While an anecdote, a few months back after placing multiple orders, aliexpress did their usual combined shipping. When I received the combined order package, the orders inside were not mine, and not the items I ordered. Because the package showed as delivered, aliexpress told me to take a hike, regardless of showing photo evidence. Individual sellers also told me to take a hike. I paid via paypal, I opened a dispute with paypal and they took care of things for me and got my money back. On top of that I paid through paypal via a credit card, because in the end, my creditor would have more skin in the game as it were than aliexpress and paypal, and if all else fails, they would get my money back.
I am with crispycircuit, in todays world it only makes sense to have as many layers of financial protection as you can, especially when dealing with international shipments.

This was months ago, everything has already been solved by paypal and as I stated, when opening a dispute with aliexpress, both aliexpress and the individual sellers would not help and told me the package was delivered.
Thanks for the replies about the size of the boards. Only the A60 without + is suitable for me in terms of the size of the radiators. But the question arose, can I use transformers with a secondary voltage of 42V? Or only 36V and less?
I've purchased many times at Aliexpress and never had a single problem. I've always been lucky, perhaps because I always wanted to see the bright side. Foreboding attracts trouble.
But, may I suggest to get back to the subject here and open another thread entitled "Bashing Aliexpress..."

That's at the upper limit. But consider that heat dissipation would be much higher, requiring even larger heat sinks. Also, the power supply 63V capacitors should be replaced with at least 80V capacitors. Remember: heat sinks, transformers and chasis dominate the costs. Additional costs would be prohibitive. Consider re-winding the transformer.... can I use transformers with a secondary voltage of 42V? Or only 36V and less?
Let me add this:Consider re-winding the transformer
If you decide to re-wire the transformer, turni it into 4X30VAC (2X20+2X30 VAC) output so you can separate channels completely which should further improve the sound quality.
Thank you, Berlusconi. ow my dartzeel is powered by two such transformers, they work fine, so I don’t really want to change a good one for a new one. Capacitors in the power supply are already at 80V. Radiators now 250*200*45mmThat's at the upper limit. But consider that heat dissipation would be much higher, requiring even larger heat sinks. This would be interesting!
I have also tested NHB-108 at 60V and it survived. So why not and it did sound well.
Please, note that A60 power supply 10,000 uF capacitors are denoted as 50V on the silkscreen and that some commercially available boards are stuffed with 63V capacitors. I am sure that the designer of the board is professional who knew the reason for selection of such values.
There are different specifications on Aliexpress regarding the transformers going up to 42VAC. However, sellers at Aliexpress sometime exaggerate. Take their specifications with a grain of salt.
Good luck!
