Something would have to be very wrong to make a flapless landing because the very first position unlocks the outboard ailerons.
Stall Speeds:
Tiger Moth 29MPH
Piper Cub 38MPH
B-17 (my last ride) 78MPH
Helio Courier 27 mph
Fiesler Storch 32 mph
Ford TriMotor 57MPH
You probably want a autogyro.
There's a Russian aircraft which has an even lower stall speed -- and has no issues with runways filled with rubble and assorted parts of armored attack vehicles and tanks. An example was at one of the airshows around here. Something like 25mph.
I am too old for this, I remember when the F18 was new.
Pierre Spray designer of F15, 16 and A10 is also an Audio man. Very argumentative and hyper intelligent. Shame he isn't here. I remember him saying Fourier analysis has limited application in Audio because it can not describe the DC component. To which I should have said Fourier knew that. Considering Fourier died before railways got going that's pretty good.
I got told off for talking about the Dehavaland Comet.and told no good living in the past. I forget the exact warning but it's something like this. Those who ignore the past are condemned to make the same mistakes.

Look at "Manual Trim Wheel Loads" here 737 MAX - MCAS
1" trim wheel, I used to fly Cessnas with a far larger 4" wheel 😱
I think it's a 1" smaller trim wheel than previous versions of the 737 rather than a 1" trim wheel.
Boeing is cash flow negative for the first time in decades -- they are in the market for a $14bn loan.
Pierre Spray didn’t design any of those aircraft.
Though it would be nice if here were here.
Some wanting a simple explanation say that. Officially he is an expert. I doubt anyone is the designer now.
Pierre is very likable despite being very oppionated. I think he likes to make people react.
That sounds odd because switching on the autopilot switches off MCAS but so far I understood switching the autopilot off just starts another round of the MCAS trimming the nose down.
Got that wrong then. What I remember is the 3rd man leaning forward between the two regulars and switching *something*. I thought it was AP off.

If I understood correctly a 737 series aircraft has crash landed at Istanbul airport. As best I know although broken into perhaps three pieces the passengers have survived! I do hope I am right.
News update. 1 dead and 157 injured. I saw a news flash on my travels. I did think it remarkable if there wasn't injuries. Even so it's remarkable. I think I read of a similar incident a month ago and likely the same opperator. 737-800 as best I know.
More news about Boeing problems.

However bad the starliner is at the moment compared to spaceX the pork will continue to flow towards Boeing.

With around $5B paid to Boeing so far, there's a lot of financial inertia there.
I heard recently this." Sophistication that works needs great skills. Simplicity that works requires genius. Engineering prefers the latter". I am not convinced that the modern world thinks this way. The wording slightly reduced.
Apparently the US Navy will buy less P8 Poseidons than originally ordered.
Of course, the fact that the P8 is an adapted 737-800ERX has nothing to do with it.
Another hit for Boeing ...

But UK has just taken deliveries of the first of its P8 fleet. Nimrod was a pretty plane but a gigantic money pit of a sub hunter.
