Yeah, that's why I'm asking re common mode suppression.

You would make a simple long-tailed pair with balanced inputs and outputs, using two 6V6-triodes per channel?
Would you need to rig up a CCS for the 'tail' (joined cathodes) to ground (or negative DC supply)?

After reading a little here an there in this tread. I am a bit confused. Can you tell me what is found to be and final the best configuration with 6V6 tubes? is it with the maida reg ?
I recommend G3X version (link in post#1). Deeper sound is with shunt reg SSHV2 but some Maida reg is decent.
OK, surprised to see pre-amp with feedback is considered best 🙂 What do you mean by "deeper sound" ?
Just 6dB of shunt NFB (Schade). No worries, cuts some noise & keeps gain in a more useful range. Many may be skeptical but those few who modified the classic common cathode version to the G3X kept it. By "deeper sound" I mean more image depth and better mid-bass.
I have a power transformer with only one 230VAC, will that be enough after filtering and/or regulation, I guess siliciumdiodes are the only way here. How low can the pre amp be power supplied for optimal use?
If you will achieve 300V-330V DC B+ with your transformer, it should be useable. Don't utilize below 300V or it will take some recalculation of bias point.
Good to know, thanks for input Salas and stajo. Yes I can upgrade for another transformer later. Else I might have a transformer I can voltage double to a higher voltage, but that might not be the best solution.
Do you recommend dual mono SSHV2 shunt regs for a stereo 6V6 G3X, or will a single one work as well with that circuit?Better to use the 6V6 pre G3X version in this case for more controlled gain and impedance
Single one is good, but dual mono always give wider soundstage if cost and space is no object.
Do you guys know if there are any SSHV2 PCBs for sale in the EU ? (I hope north America and EU make a free trade agreement sometime!)
Keeping this thread alive...
I put this together last week and am very impressed.
Thanks to Salas and all who have contributed .
Yes, read the entire thread...
I will definitely tidy it up in a proper chassis.

Good parts!!
I must say I've been preferring the 5 pin valves 27, 37, 56, 76 but they're around 10K Rp.
