Good thing!

Mr.Aloia has various steps for PSU, it is one of his battle horses!
From normal CLC up to LCLC !!:hot: chocke input. And note that the PSU is " in parallel", not" in series" ( I have read so).

You are in very good hands !😉

Cheers,
Paolo

Hey Bob 🙂 ,
Excuse my question: are you sure to have the instruments to build yourself that monster?😀

Because It seems to me it is not the typical basic SE;
It is IMO not an easy task
🙄

But I am really newbie on tubes, so my point is just impression, of course!🙂

Hey, what type of speakers do you have to drive with it?
Big room or little?

Cheers,
Paolo

I have many speakers 😀 from low to high efficiency.
Time is my ally, I will not rush this project.

About the instruments, I`m looking forward to purchase some measurements tools.

I like challenging projects. More important is the info you gather about them. The rest is simple.

http://cgi.ebay.com/600OHM-SE-AUDIO... ohosting On paper they look OK.

I've used those. They do well, but only up to about 10W of output power.

Edcor has a 600ohm CXSE transformer (http://www.edcorusa.com). I am using a pair now in a 6c33c SE. They are considerably beefier and will only cost you $20 more per transformer. Even though they are rated at half the power of the eastern audio transformers, in real life they will handle about twice. I guess Edcor is rated in US watts and the EA is Chinese watts. 😀

Edcor doesn't list the 600ohm transformers online. You have to call or possibly e-mail to order them.

Their current 600ohm design has %50 taps. I had them add those for a local feedback experiment. You can have them remove the taps, since you won't be using them.

I have been mulling over Dmitry Nizh's inductor coupled design for a while now, and even have the ECC99's and 6C33C's at the ready! So I will have to give those OPT a look myself. I was thinking of using the UBT-1's or something similiar. Most of the SE circuits floating about for this tube insist on some exotic iron, which is what appeals to me with this design, as well as the linear driver tube, and the operating range of the output tube. Has anyone else used this design?
