Post scriptum: after last night music session again THD spectrum option switch test's of Schade 50W.

Tap D of CCS : sound have " touch of sharpness " H3 signature what is typical for many of the solid state amplifiers.
Difference this H3 is from nice class A SE 🙂

Tap C in the center : sound are close to acoustic instruments and details presentation for ex:
vibratos in the voice, the string chords and piano have this natural " togetherness "

On the heels of a successful MoFo build with SMPS power supplies, I was wondering if a 60v SMPS would be ok to use with the 50W SE amp. I like to use 3x the current draw when picking a transformer. Can the same apply when using a SMPS source or would more power be needed since it's SE? The MoFo is SE, but the 50w SE has a bit more going on with the current source on top.

Do you try comparing MoFo audio performance with linear classic PSU ?
Can be an interesting test before go to huge SMPS unit choice for Schade 50Watt´s.

I did not try a linear power supply on the MoFo. I'm getting such great performance with the SMPS that I find it hard to believe it can get better with a power supply change. However, nothing surprises me when it comes to audio and hearing is believing. Then again, what I hear is all in my head. 🙂

If anyone has built and compared a SMPS and a linear on the MoFo or the 50w SE amps, post your thoughts here. If you don't want to post here for the sake of controversy avoidance, email me directly. I won't re-post.
I just want to know what you are hearing. 🙂

My Schade 50Watts monoblock is powered by two interconnected bench lab PSU's in total = 60V and 10A capability max.
Input audio transformer bring clean sound and is give more immunity against external noise and perturbations.
About SMPS ....well maybe build huge DIY 60 V | 40 A BRICK

I do ready buy and test them on bench with high precision Ohmeter , good news all resistors values are accurate.

For my Schade 50Watt's monoblocks i do use Antek 600VA toroids
two 50V secondaires connected in paralell green blue to rectifier bridge.
For the bias voltage 12 V orange secondaires. Need start ave now haha

as done for the ALPHA BB, here the CPU cooler fan version of this amplifier using TO264 IXYS (using CineMag CMOQ-4XPC in 3D instead of JENSEN JT-123-FLPCH).



With the permissions (Pass, @vdi_nenna and the others) and if someone wants to build this version then I´ll finish the job and put all the datas including manufacturing datas here online so that someone can organize a GB.



I´VE PERSONALLY NO GB INTENTION!



P.S.: input could be designed on the right (or left) waste panel but I need schematics.
