Ooooops! I meant this one! For bias!

no mention of Mu Follower , or I missed something?
That's Part 2
How's this?

Hi Dan, regarding the layout in post #820 - it's been a long time since I've done any board layouts but let me know if you think this would work - push R1 to the very top of the board above R2 and you can do all of this on a single layer, no more green and red crossing paths.

... actually if you switched positions of R1 and R2 you could get the same result too, no more need for another layer
I'm a rooky but I took my best shot and have some boards on the way. We'll see how they turn out!

Dan

For everyone's amusement my latest PCBs.

Or, if you move the thin green trace up then under R2, you'll only need single sided PCB
oh yeah
current mirrors can be tricky
let's concentrate on something else - eenyweeny JFet feeding from drain two bigun gates , no feedback etc
just make some olde toob schmtc , Kosher in audiophool circles , and be done with sugar
as Pa said once , when I asked about his opinion of Eminence Alpha 15 - " I like my speakers having some magnet"
so , nothing wrong when you invest some cojones in drive

Thank you ZM, I was thinking more about the concept rather than the details.
My ever evolving 'gain block' has mirrors, so agreed.
I'd rather double up the mirror output than half the emitter resistor for more drive - thought the J74 was in the feedback loop?
Nice speakers, I have the Augie version, I will eventually get round to mating them with my last birthday present - a pair of previously enjoyed B&G RD75's

Any PCB design software installed on Your computer ?
Small dimensions boards are cheap.
Make separate : CCS , amplification stage , bias circuit with simple jfet buffer included.
PL amp with IXYS are example. Have a nice day
Is a simple JFET input buffer more or less 'mandatory'?
The reason I'm asking is it makes sense to included the input buffer on the amplification stage if I'm going to the trouble of designing and making PCBs?

Dan
Starting around post #83 of this thread are conflicting opinions of what Pa is recommending. I hope my unregulated CLC will do.

From Father Pass's little brother?
Why aren't power amplifiers regulated?
