Idk if that's the best idea, but I'm sure it would be somewhat okay. Maybe use 1/2" for the sides and 3/4" for the interior panels.
Lab 12c
Hey, I've been following this thread and don't think I saw any mention of the Lab 12c - has anybody tried seeing what using that driver instead will do to the design? I'm interested in it because it's easier to match impedances with powers of 2.

I haven't seen any Hornresp plots for that version. I can plug it in tomorrow unless someone beats me to it.
I made a cutlist for it, I rounded up on the numbers to allow for some trimming

I'm guessing that's 4x8?
My supplier has Baltic Birch in 4x8, but they say its rare and the more popular version is 5x5 (which is what I used for the cabinets, two 5x5's got the job done for each cabinet with wood to spare)

Yeah STD 4X8. For my build I was going to use 4X8 AraucoPly as I have used it before and its available locally at lowes. Not as great as BB but for the price its a good contender and just a strong (just a tad softer).
Here is 5X5

You're building one? Or multiples? Hope they work out for you! Post pics when you're finished 🙂
I had planned to build 2, already have the drivers just need wood. Have you had any time to listen to it with tops or with music?
Loud,
Not yet. Haven't even fired the pair up together with the bigger mx2000a.
Been working on the rest of the system. Construction is 98% complete, just have all the wiring and little stuff to complete.

Yeah exactly. All the time consuming BS. I have all the parts wires connectors etc etc just have to physically connect it all. Then setup and tuning! I'm going to need help with tuning, so bare with me on the questions Art!

Any update on how they sound? I finally got all my supplies, going to start this week. Wondering if you made any changes after the final build?
All I did was highpass at 32hz, and a touch of EQ at 63hz to try and fill that hole. No measurements yet or impressions outdoors. I've listened loud indoors and they deff kick! But I'm not sure how much influence the room is having on that. Gotta wait till I have them outside.
Great!
HP of 32hz is way better than the 45hz I was using with my Titan39. I felt I was missing a bunch below that, too much kick, not enough grumble below. Looking forward to this build.

On the build, the slight angle pieces that make up the horn path, did you cut them at an angle, or just glue the straight edge on and fill the slight angle with the gap? I am talking about the main piece that has the woofer attached to it?
