Unfortunately a reset didn’t solve the issue. I contacted SMSL and they told me to contact the company I purchased the dac from(Drop.com) so now I’m waiting to hear back from Drop. The dac is only about 5 months old so I’m hoping it’s still covered under warranty. Can the reset solve this problem? if not, you can directly connect with SMSL, I think they have a good after-sale service.
Hi, BroHi Eric.
Do you have any data sheet, tests and mechanical size for FFA003?
I also miss a complete overview with prices of what you can deliver now, and what you have planned to have in the near future and in the longer terms.
Thanks
Currently, the FFA003 module is used in a customer's product, and we are busy doing trial production for them. The module on the DIY side needs to be adjusted to have 350W@4/8, so on this basis, we need to adjust the rail voltage and output MOSFET, so there is no specification yet. But the mech size should be no change, with 245*90mm;
In addition, as mentioned earlier, our CM will take a long holiday at the end of this month, so the IO board corresponding to this FFA003 may need to be delayed until after the Chinese New Year; Sorry for this long time delay.
Thanks,Eric
Hi, BillEric,
Do you have any pictures or drawings of the I/O board for the FFA003 boards ?
Bill
I'll PM to send you the draft placement,
And the I/O announcement will have a long delay due to the tough season and CNY.
Sorry for keeping you waiting.
Thanks,Eric
These modules look like perfect Christmas gift for myself 😉 I wasn't paying attention to the Bazaar for a while and I would miss this one. Certainly very interesting option as 2ch amp.
Good luck with the FFA003 350W version.

and, with this amplifier module, your jingle bell sound this year will amaze your neighbors 🙂

Hi guys,
I want to share with you that I didn't regret changing the 4 large reservoir caps that came with the board to Nippon Chemicon KYB series ones which is rated low impedance, high ripple and long life. Please note that these caps have 60V running on them. The graininess is polished out and the soundstage opens up with more air between the singer and instruments. The amp is good but now it is great with this change.

Mouser only have 5 in stock, with the next shipment due October 2023!
The main point is explore other 'better' caps after the successful initial power on and running tests. I think caps that can take high ripple and are low impedance will make noticeable improvements.Mouser only have 5 in stock, with the next shipment due October 2023!
The Samxon SK series capacitors that are used on the new black amps seem to be pretty good parts already. If it’s the Samxon name thats the issue I completely understand I think we would all prefer to see Nichicon,Panasonic, Rubycon…etc but then the price would be higher.

Sincerely doubt it is possible to differentiate between those caps in a ABX test.
It is more than likely that Samxon increased their QC significantly after the incident with a bad run some years ago, not taking action = suicide by rumour mill.
Without any data backing the subjective opinion of increased performance, I will interpret it as "expectation bias".

Oh well, let's not chalk up Eric's sales thread with this decades old debate on whether one can differentiate in a blindfold tests, ABC tests or what not about different caps. Keep the Samxon on and enjoy your music, I will listen to my no data expectation bias in my own room without disturbing your thoughts. 😀Sincerely doubt it is possible to differentiate between those caps in a ABX test.

If you feel that the expectation bias gives you better sound I'm all for it.
Nothing wrong with enjoying a placebo effect, the important bit is the perceived improvement.

Hi Erica.C
Received my new RCA I/O board at the weekend, thanks. Unlike on the original XLR I/O board, the on/off positions for the 'Bridge' switch are not shown on the PCB. Can you indicate the correct switch positions?
Thanks

Please check below picture for the amplifier mode setting.

Hi Eric
I just received my nice package today, amazing quality 👍 and the mounting plate will make everything much easier to build. I’ll try the amp tomorrow.
I have the RCA buffer PCB, would you have a mechanic layout drawing (PDF format) showing the distances between the RCA’s, power switch and led. I’d like to have a nice back panel instead of guessing where to drill the opening...😜
Thanks in advance
Eric

Please check this mech drawing.

That drawing only shows the location in the horizontal plane. Do you have a corresponding drawing showing the vertical dimensions?

I do not have this data, I'll try to get the datasheet of these parts here for your reference.
Thanks, Eric

@Erica.C ,
i think Eric is asking for some panel cut out drawing so that he can do proper drilling for the connectors, switch and led. Example,
