I finally made a decision on the OPS implementation and now the transistors are discontinued. Damn.
Anyone know of a source for these?

Hi Dave,
got mine from Elektronik und Technik bei reichelt elektronik günstig bestellen
2sa1381 and 2sc3503 both where E-types. As the "E" it is not part of the product number you may ask reichelt before buying.
They seem to be original sanyo and no fakes but who knows ...

Definitely not, Sanyo used silver writing on their parts. I have tons of Sanyo devices bought direct from Sanyo when they still had semiconductor devision and they are all the same.
Your parts look more like the ones now manufactured by fairchild. Not a problem if this is so, they perform about the same.
You could measure the capacitance between BC to get a better idea of originality.
The fairchild parts are actually described as ksa and ksb but on the parts itself the numbering starts with the a or c.
Mouser shoud have stock of the fairchild parts.

Hi David,
You could try contacting sonnya here on the site. He might be able to help you.

Dear Manso,
are you able to upload pictures of your sanyo devices ...

I could try tommorrow, Im at work at the moment. Im not sure whether I still some of this particular part though as I usually use 2sa1209 and compl. which I have tons of. Other parts from them also in To126 all look the same though.
KEC also manufacturers this part so its hard to say where your part hails from. KEC is a cheap second source manufacturer although I find their parts to comply with datasheets and be of good quality.
For an example of the Fairchild parts look at the nx amp paper by Bonsai, in it there is a picture of the parts supplied by mouser. They seem to all have a F on them.

Here a picture. Maybe someone can verify if they are original sanyo...
To astx and others
Does someone could confirm those 2sc3503 and 2sa1381 from Reichelt Germany were ok , even if they were not oryginał sanyo tranies??

Transistors from post #3 look similar as shown on Sanyo datasheet.
Old Fairchild components have had the "F" on front and the complete part name "2SC3503" on first row.
KEC uses a different case type.
Post #3 parts compared to original and brand new Fairchild KSC3503, KSA1381 showed that the parts from Reichelt do have a significantly higher capacitance between BC.
For me this was the main reason not to use them - maybe they are fakes.

I think they're fakes too.
They're look very seem my 2SC3600E/2SA1406E. Sanyo alway use silver writing and the front of face parts is not smooth.

Hı. I also bought some of them. I bought 2sc3503 from local supplier it is Fairchild and 2sa1381 is from chinese seller.I measured capacitance of cb with my precision an lcr meter at 1khz. 2sc3503 is around 140pf and 2sa1381 is around 1200pf. Is it normal ? 2sa1381 fake ? Here photo
Look they're not from Sanyo and not from Fairchild too.
So, they're can be fake, or some local Chinese manufacturer and their quality is ... unknown.
Semiconductor devices i always buy from Mouser & Digikey. A little experience say me that.

Can anyone measure capacity of each npn and pnp 2sc3503 and 2sa1381 (E hfe ones)transistor @1khz between cb and tell Thé values? Thanks in advance
Are NTE2501/2502 good replacement for 2SA1381/2SC3503?
Does anyone has any experience with them?

NTE brand have always been suspicious, knowing that the specs are always very limited.
Only one way to know is try them out.
have you tried any of the Sanyo devices that Onsemi has kept alive
ON Semiconductor Through Hole Bipolar Transistors - BJT | Mouser

It does not look promising, to high Cob, to low Early Voltage.
Great find
KEC
devices show as still being active, wonder where to buy them?

. where do you look for this in the spec?to low Early Voltage
