Good thinking. Sorry I thought your first layout was for only 1 speaker. Your cut sheet leaves some leftover for possible bracing if wanted.

Great to hear you will have some tools to enable your DIY hobby to make speakers. This is a fantastic speaker to build. If all I had was this speaker and the FH9HVX for the rest of my life, I would not be unhappy at all. The two work very well together and they will play everything very well.
Although the 4 ohm version, Madisound is having the 10F/4424G on sale today.
Just in case anyone is looking for a 10F

Yes XRK, that's why I mentioned that only the 4 ohm version was the one on sale (too bad huhuhu).
Oh well, hopefully they also get to have the 8 ohm version on sale soon 🙂
On another note, it is possible to use two 10F 4-ohm version in series, to make it effective 8-ohms?
Would that be possible, and if so are there any benefits to this (or more of a blunder)?
I'm thinking D'Appolito orientation (MTM) but without the tweeter in the middle 🙂

Adding two full range would destroy the single point source nature of the speaker and cause vertical comb effects. It might be easier to modify the crossover by doubling the main high pass capacitor (C2). That would be quite the large film cap at 120uF. That would be needed to keep the crossover frequency about the same. There would probably be other tweaks too and would require fine tuning with measurements. The crossover would also now be a nominally lower impedance. R1/R2 would be adjusted to balance the levels with the woofer. more advantageous is to double the woofers parallel (4ohms nominally) in a WMW arrangement with the 10F in middle like d’Appolito arrangement and change L4 to 2mH. You would get 6dB increase in sensitivity. R1/R2 would need to be changed to bring sensitivity back up to 86dB. Maybe R1=1R and R2=10R.

Nice work on the XO’s! If you play loud, the resistors may get warm. But normal volumes will be fine.
Would you like to share the XO for B80/RS225?Here's another pair of the monitors built. Went for B80 because of local availability and aesthetics. It matches the woofer as if it's a smaller Dayton RS series driver.
Really enjoying the sound these produce for any genre of music. Superb instrument separation and really tight bass. I have to put them right near the walls and it gives a very welcome bass boost, so they reach 40hz without eq.

Yes. I noticed it was warm to the touch (not hot) when I played at 35w continuous for 10min.Hi X,
I assume the one getting the hottest would be the first 4.7 in the 10f line?
Cheers.
That's ok, only 20min per side on vinyls.. and my ears would fatigue first....Yes. I noticed it was warm to the touch (not hot) when I played at 35w continuous for 10min.
Cheers.
Hello and Big thanks to XRK971 for sharing his work with us...
Not a cabinet maker but had some time and decent 3/4 plywood salvaged from job site dumpster.
used RS225-8 but to save money used DMA90-8 3-1/2" at least for now, could put them in a cornucopia.
Plan to Paint them black Much more sanding and prep to do
Also had some JBL crossovers so reworked them for this
No idea if this is even close to right but it works for now
from ear ( I did not scope it) the balance point is about 1700hz where both speakers are about equal.
Had a listen tonight, forgot to add the polyfil and used a standard (not great sounding) Sony amp.
one I don't really like or normally use. And a phone as source
They sound good very large Coherent sound stage, good detail and texture.
the backs are removable with 14 screws each... so I can adjust / fix crossovers
more to do
Thanks Again

Will your etsy XO boards work with the B80 XO? Sorry if this is a silly question new to this..
