Revised version of Apex F8.
I have made changes in layout by adding smd resistor parallel with trimpot to increase reliability in case of trimpot failure.
Value for trimpot will be 1k and SMD resistors 150Ω, both 805 and 1206 package will work.

Sonal Kunal

Greetings mr.sonal kunal
Pls share fx11 2pair pcb layout in pdf formate
Thank you .
Soon one more 50x50 class amp. FX8 based on sonal kunal pcb.
so,it is possible to get 💯 W even from one transistor? 🙂
so,it is possible to get W even from one transistor? 🙂
Yes, certainly with 1 pair. FH9HV with 120w demonstrated on 10ohm load. But double die is cheating.

If you want a reliable 100W into a reactive speaker from mosFETs, then use approximately 400W of devices.so,it is possible to get 💯 W even from one transistor? 🙂
1pair of 200W, or 2pair of 100W, or 3pair of 70W devices.
Hi Dobrivoje.
Little impressions please, if your amp is singing.
xrk- now we know the price for item.
yup, found it. Iwas searching name ALFET08......no results.I bought my Alf latfets at Farnell.
ALF08NP16V5 - SEMELAB - Dual MOSFET, N and P Channel, 8 A, 160 V | Farnell element14

Sorry, Bangla, I'm not as fast as Terry and X 😛
Only one channel is at test setup. Power supply is made for another amp, it gives +-33VDC. Protective resistors are included, amplifier input is shorted, output not connected.
Input and driver transistors are matched, so I got DC offset only 2mV.
At the moment idle current is about 100mA. Heatsinks are mild after an hour.
Everything seems OK, so now I'll test another channel and if all goes well, this evening amp will sing.

Quick question, is this F8 really an FX8? I can't find the F8 in either directory. Also, the schematic differs slightly from the pcb, marked in red. Also, the 1N4148's and 12V zeners are missing on the pcb. Ok, nevermind. I found it in the 100W ultimate fidelity amp thread.

BF871/872 are obsolete. What do you suggest as a good replacement?
Terry,
You can use parametric search available at web site of your favorite parts supplier. Any transistor in the same case, with similar Vce, Ft, current and power rating will do. Check that pinout is the same.

There is no need of diode, zener protection when using K1058 and J162 because both device have them in build. This layout is only compatible with lateral fets with in-build diode, zener protection.
As for zobel, I used way Shaan implemented on PeeCeeBee V1.1 for better pcb space utilization.

I know that a search can be done, but Mile uses these parts in his design often so I want to know what "he" suggests as a substitute.

the red marked components are just the zobel being split in two 10r and two 47nF in parallel .

The FX8 uses a LTP front end and the F8 is a diamond buffer front end.

I just added it to Directory Chap 2

From my experience with VSSA diamond buffer front and latFET outputs - it sounds very good. Probably cleaner - but I like the musicality of an LTP front end more. So in my mind FX8 and FH9 are easy to live with for long time. But who knows maybe F8 can change my mind? I look forward to others' listening impressions.
ALFET FX8 Board
You have done a good careful build to that point- nice, better than me first.
Ripcord
every week. 😛 😛.
Than for as fellows the race can go on.
I also would go to collect experience in that simple amp with diamond buffer,
like xrk.
Bangla.
Yes 😀 , only to say.Sorry, Bangla, I'm not as fast as Terry and X

You don't could see that amp before- it is a new worked out idea by Mile- likeI can't find the F8 in either directory

This seems the final version of FH11
Hello sonal kunal, could you please post the sprint file?
FH11 with modifications suggested by Mr. Miles.
@XRK, could you update schematic with modifications.
@Bangla H, I use sprint layout easy to use but more likely I make mistake while drawing layout. But it's fun once you get hang of it.
I started with eagle and still use it for digital layout.
