could be. how did your measurement in car compare to hornresp predictions?
I Recently took a look see.
Red was with the box pointed at the rear window with microphone on dash
Green was generic mic @ mouth in ‘big’ room
SPL is not calibrated (theres a Peq/filter @ 20 hz to protect drivers)

Nice, you went from a F3 of 40hz to a F3 of 25hz.
Hence, cabin gain or transfer function in vehicles.
Look at the gain at 20hz!
This is why BP4's can be tuned between 60-80hz and still get 30hz performance in a vehicle.

I cannot believe someone would pay $600 for 2 x 5" (2" x 8" drivers) subs.

It has the factory fender system. I have 2 shallow mount 10s I can use but I think I’m gonna use the 18.
That's what I assumed on Crutchfield and other audio sites.
You removing the back seat for the 18?

If I commit I would Just remove the driver side rear seat and point the sub at my back. In this small space I would use a chebychev qtc of 1 which, At this point with a fresh driver is 115L. According to website specs, it would be a tiny 39.5L after break in. If I go the compromise route, I can fit the tens under the passenger side and fiberglass the box under the entire bench. I have 2 Polk db+1042 svc. They are shallow mount but they prefer a bit of space. I think I can get at least 1.5cf. The benefits of the 10s would be much cheaper build and preserve the stock aesthetic. If I run the 18, I have to upgrade the electrical significantly to accommodate either a ds18 fr-5k or a stinger mt-4000.1. Plus the mids and highs amp. I keep thinking about how cool it would be to put a sealed 18 in there. it would be crazy on proper wattage. But maybe I would be happy with the 10s and preserve the truck! I suppose I could always start with the tens since I have both. First things first though, I’m going to dampen the entire truck with butyl and foam.
Last generation Tacoma . Kinda intersting to see what happens in the electrical impedance. I don’t know what the cabin resonace is in this ?? (Something is affecting ~105 hz)What kind of vehicle is it? I have a 22 frontier crew cab I need to test.
I’d like to try a box that isn’t so ‘overdamped’ at the low frequencies and mess around with REW

I had a Mechman 250amp alternator in my F150.They are shallow mount but they prefer a bit of space. I think I can get at least 1.5cf. These shallow mount 15's are in 3ft3 sealed total.
I miss that truck. I won't haul crazy stuff like mulch in the Crown Vic. I have been window shopping 2019 and up F150 SuperCrews with Coyote V8's. Been debating if I will purchase 4wd or not. Both my trucks were 2wd. The F150 came with a 3.55 LSD axle. The Ranger came with a 3.45 open axle and I added a 3.73 LSD axle from an Explorer. While I had the bed off, I added a rear sway bar from the same Explorer. I'm kinda mad that I never took any pics of that axle swap and sway bar installation.
