These have to be so big to get decent low frequency output that most people would prefer to cheat with a Helmholtz resonator I think?
But the strategic (convenient with two drivers) driver offset sure helps get rid of the junk in the XO region .
What program do you use to make your box drawings? They always look so nice!

I assumed BW used 2 B&C 21SW152-4's in his Paraflex model based on the Sd and Re.

It is in Metric

💚So much better than the old paraflex designs. That thing is just as smooth as an 1/3 offset driver TL, but with way more ‘gain’ if you compare.
Pull the just bottom
Section(s6-s9) off and look at how the air mass of the short resonator affects the bandwidth and output . It’s really cool
(Strange way to simulate the actual shapes of s7-s9 in the box and exit @ L45 , but what else can you do)?

I wish I could get more drivers to work so smoothly in these. The results are really good when it actually works
(I still Think mine is ‘overdamped’ and too conservative for us ‘bassheads’ ?)

D@mn, the 21.75" x 11" CSA is too small.
20.452 m/s @ 21.96hz.
17.283 m/s @ 21.34hz with 4 outside ground plane or 1 in a vehicle or room corner.

21.75" x 12" is probably the smallest CSA you would want to use.
I actually looked at 11" > 6" > 11" segments, kinda like the Paraflex stagger....313mm = 12.32" > 254mm = 10" > 279mm = 10.98".
I'm using Ap1 & Lp as S1 to S3...we need a 5th TH segment!
Basically, it's a stepped flared port TH.

D@mn, I forgot the response!
This is what I mean by a rising response. That "cabin gain" or "transfer function" flattens the response.

Also, that is why the Devastators on avsforum.com are designed that way.
There are a bunch of B&C 21" designs.

Plain old Excel. I basically use it as drafting paper. What program do you use to make your box drawings? They always look so nice!
Font = Calibri 10.
Column width = 2.
I usually have to shrink the view down to 50 or 60% for our HUGE enclosures.
9.65 ‘inches’ deep or so?
22x11 (1560 cm2) as a ‘minimum’ maybe?
The driver's mounting depth is 10.3".
The driver's diameter is 21.3".
That's why I use 21.75" x 11".
that is why i posted the Paraflex type O, i tought.... wait a minute... i saw something almost identical...
and was looking in my stash of plan ! 🙂
stick that second resonator section in s6-s9 instead of l34-l45 and its an entirely different beast? (4800 x 70 on each side of the driver entry)😱
probably the one that doesnt sound like a wooden hallway of echoes? neither of these are gonna win any awards for anything other than SPL?
4,800cm2 is a HUGE mouth!View attachment 1455194

I get the same results, different design without the polyfil and phase issue, unless i tap into the high tuned resonatur and cause it by altering the length) sounds pretty good unless a bass guitar is ‘muddy’ or male vocals stir up some ringing/howling. Weird amplified funk coming out a big mouth/vent is annoying as heck …
You gotta really screw up the resonators to get that green graph of the original type A. It 💩s the bed @ 3 x Fb as a result and rings like crazy.
It’s ALL a lot better(anything high order qw) if I use the Peq like @glaxar suggested earlier in this thread (instead of relying on a generic xo slope )
Some music just plain sucks in those resonating pipes I suppose, we Cant win them all 🤷🏼
Nothing sounds as good as a big fat tapered qw pipe with polyfil in it though.
