Lowther's New Premium Range

Any one received these yet or had a price? I have Lowther DX4 and they still shout occasionally. Despite triode amp.
Since dx4 is not designed for direct radiation. You should never let them facing at you directly. Try moving your speaker apart to create an equilateral triangle between you and the two speaker and do not toe in the speaker. This should be the best you can get out of the dx4. Other solution could be exchange a pair of pm7a with the dx4, or building a pair of cabinet with front loading horn or wall reflection.

Since dx4 is not designed for direct radiation.
I’m not sure how to react to this statement.

I own DX3, DX4 and PM6A. I have used or heard them in a variety of applications (front horns, back horns, combinations of both, OB, MLTL) and have never come across any information that would justify this assertion.

Would you like to explain?… or do you have any technical information that would support this?

I went to Lowther's official website and I don't see anything about the tube amp they've just released. So I don't know the price, and I can't make any comparisons with my already outdated (not that outdated, eh?) Prima Luna Dialogue Two. But the current equivalent to this Lowther amp (with significantly more power) would be the EVO 100, at $3,295:
How does it compare? Both in sound quality and price? Can anyone give me a definitive answer?
The difference I see at first glance is that it uses tubes that aren't as "common" as the Prima Luna—12AX7s and 12AU7s for the preamp and driver—and a wide range of output tubes to choose from (see attached). The circuit's Auto Bias design allows you to choose between them without any bias adjustments. An advantage that has meant years of pleasure for me, without any inconvenience or wasted time when tube-rolling...

PS: I see that all PL models now include a headphone output. Mine didn't bring it, damn it ! 😡

In my opinion, I heard the original 300b from western electric, JJ 2A3-40 and various other tubes like Phillip Holland EL34, GEC KT66 all the way to 212 from PSVane.

Nothing much can compared to vocal with PX25 or PX4, the 300b sound close but the OSRAM PX25 I heard is just a different tonality compared to the legendary WE 300B.

PX25/PX4 work really well with Lowther

IMHO the small input tubes defined the sound quality/fidelity more than anything else... so my small stash of old 6DJ8/12AU7/12AX7 stayed with me everywhere I moved. But, diy loudspeakers the last few years I used mainly Class D stacks (always powered on).

45/300B/EL84/KT66/KT88/various OTL gathering dust....

All of this is well and good but I hope they'll provide driver measurements on their website like they have with the "classic" Lowther drivers as well as the pricing for the new ones. I hope they don't start going the way of AER and Voxativ with their ridiculous prices.
