Short answer, no.

Long answer: the cost and minimum qty for the chassis were doubled. It is just not economical anymore.
Having said so, the modules are being offered also completely assembled.
My plan is to post (on my blog and here) an example of a Modu shop chassis with a drilling plan and also the files for creating the front and back panels by Schaeffer (the Modu shop panels can be used) So it becomes all relatively easy to build up a complete DAC without to much hassle
 
in principle yes, but they lack the nice software to make it all so easy. I am pretty experienced with the Schaeffer software, so it is easy to create something for me.
I am not sure Modushop can read the files from Schaeffer? Some one knows this maybe? If yes, that could be an easy option indeed...
 
I have never worked with Modushop, but I believe they can work off any kind of drawing. I guess they could simply use the Schaeffer software to read your files and use this information to configure their CNC setup.

It would be great if Modushop could do a small batch of DDDAC chassis, a bit like with the AmpCamAmp.

I refer to your remark: "to just test and experiment a bit with alternate PSU or ultracaps for example...)" in post #49. That's just what I intend to do.

I have used Ian Canada's LifePO4 supply for many years now. It is an extremely reliable supply and provides very low noise, low ESR and high dynamic output current. Moreover is is totally isolated from the power supply when in use. Only pure battery output. This gives me a high quality sound that I have become accustomed to for many years now.
The LifePO4 supply provides multiples of 3.3V for its outputs, so 3.3V, 6.6V, 9.9V or 13.2V
As you mention in the post I assume I could use a 3.3V LifePO4 output connected to the 3.3V OUT connector of DDDAC1794MK3?

Since I would also like to use the LifePO4 supply for the analog supply, I am forced to use 9.9V (3 x 3.3V in series).
Will the 'VA+ 9 Volt' analog power supply input of the DDDAC1794MK3 board accept 9.9V? In your Construction Manual you mention that the 9V input "...can be off up to 0,2V without any problem. Nevertheless, try to keep it at 4V and 9V"

My questions: can I use 9.9V into the VA (analog) 9V input connector? Can you think of any problems I might run into if I do this? Will the regulator LT1763 accept 9.9V without heat problems?

Hi Henry,

yes the 3.3V can be connected directly to the 3.3V “output” - no need for input voltage.
the 9.9 volt can be connected to the 9 Volt. If (!) the regulator would get too warm it will switch off automatically. - but it should be fine.
I recommend the 9V plus minus 0.2 as that is easy to adjust with the dddac supply. It is not the “absolute maximum before damage” or something…

If we want to order the output transformer from Sowter do we simply ask for "DDDAC special"? And what about these custom chokes? I did read your initial blog post and trying to decide on values/amorphous etc.

How do the Sowters compare to what Audio Creative has on offer? Can only find a listing for their gold edition.
I have the same question. How Sowter custom DDDAC output transformers compare to the Audio Creative gold edition DDDAC output transformers?

Hi there, I recently purchased some of the newest main board and two dac boards from a member pre built. They were originally wired for XLR and I'm trying to convert them to RCA but I'm a bit confused. I need a 100k bleeder resistor after the capacitor to the RCA ground, correct?

Also do I just connect one capacitor to either positive or negative on the output (same for both channels) and then one capacitor to the ground on the output on the main board?
