That's a clear example of administrative overreach! I refuse to be tracked like that. Nobody puts their boot on my throat; regardless of size!! I will only wear sandals from now on!Burning Amp will be requiring all attendees to supply their shoe size.

No way... I saw your picture, you're Canadian... look like a hockey player.
You'd freeze you big toe wearing slippers up there.
BTW, I wear a large size for my Fruit of the Loom boxers.

I met Tom at BA
2018 my first time and I believe your first time. I captured this group photo. What a threesome. Sorry I don't know their shoe sizes.

I know my skate size is 7.5-8. No idea what my shoe size is.
I remember that trio. That was my first BAF. I've been back every year since then (pathogens permitting).

A great way to socialize and hang out. In the end equipment comes secondary to the people, sights, food and experiences 🙂
I was able to get a deal deal back at the end of August and booked a room at Best Western which is right across the street! Looking forward to meet all of you guys again, if I don't remember you come to say hi! 🙂

I'm all set to go. Room, car and flight. But I get there Sunday morning. It'll be tight. but fun!
Same as last year, I continue to recommend Arrowood and/or Hanzell in Sonoma, for people who want to tour a fantastic (IMO) California winery. Call in advance, they may strongly advise making a reservation.
If you have never seen "big trees" before, the Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve was pretty amazing. (It's pretty amazing even if you have seen Redwoods before.)
Try Sequoia National Park for REALLY BIG trees.
The Redwoods are quite incredible too, but honestly, they pale in size with the stuff in the Sierras.
However, since BA24 is not in Bakersfield ( why not? )... If you got time, drive the 101 and US199 all the way to Grants Pass in Oregon... Pretty much the entire drive on the 101 North of Santa Rosa is loaded with fantastic parks. This time of the year it's worthwhile to make the trip. I think in the summer it's foggier, huh?
There used to be this American-Californian diner in South Eureka... Yay! Still there... Kristina's Restaurant... awesome breakfast all day long.
Unless, of course you've had a few Lagunitas IPA, in which case even the small cactus in your room looks impressive... every looks impressive when you're looking up from the couch.
EDIT: How about BAB25 in Bakersfield. Why? Well, I Bakersfield had great bluegrass. Jerry Garcia played a great bluegrass banjo. As he gets older, Nelson Pass sort of looks like Jerry Garcia. Ergo... Bakersfield.

I second this. You recommended me this a few weeks ago. After seeming pictures it’s defiantly something I’ve got to experience. If you have never seen "big trees" before, the Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve was pretty amazing. (It's pretty amazing even if you have seen Redwoods before.)
