F5m kit

6L6's post #809 was what made me order the terminal strip, it seems easier than trying to work the thermistor and 3300 pf safety cap into the tight confines of the IEC module. Since I'm using the Antek 4218 I'm assuming the thermistor would be a good addition as 6L6 used?
Agree thermistors are a good idea w/ 4218. I cribbed off of 6L6's excellent F4 build guide. If you scroll down the reference link you can see his annotated PS schematic, originally from Nelson. Below you can see the bottom of my build with the thermistor / safety cap terminal. Affirm that it works per DMM this morning. Thermistors are CL60.

I bought the kit from the store and built my F5m using alternative PCBs. The case was created in 2018 to house a J2 clone using IRFP240. Since I haven't been able to acquire a pair of the proper JFETs, I decided to remove the J2 PCBs and replace them with the F5m's I designed. I am not sure if these pictures will be of interest to other F5m builders, but I know many forum members love to look at DIY audio porn! 🙂

I wish Modushop offered heatsinks like those. The heatsinks for that case were cut from two 11"x11" R-Theta model 65340. Back in February of 2003 there was a group buy for those heatsinks. I bought 8 and built an Aleph 2 clone. As time went on some of the participants in that group buy offered their units for sale and I purchased four more. Two of them went into the case shown above, the other two into another case posted here:
