It would work. It's just that the 2X18 secondaries are at a sweet spot for a lot of the projects around here, with regards to bias current / device dissipation and how the OS is setup. I tend to use the same power supply for many different projects. My own monoblocks have the 4220's (w/ active rectification) and sometimes I run into situations where the slightly "too high" rail voltage prevents me from cranking the bias current where I really want to run it. We dare not push a single device (TO-247) above 50W of dissipation if we're wise. Even then, you better have an ample HS / mounting solution, and know what you're doing with that game (maybe someday I will.. :) )

Me? I would go with IR/Infineon If I couldn't get Nelson's kit.
I did another search of this forum on the sourcing question, and someone pointed out that Siliconix might have second sourced the part (way back when) which may have been closer to the IR parts than the Harris version. But it's still unclear to me whether Vishay is using the Siliconix or Harris process, both companies having been absorbed there. "Siliconix" appears on the Vishay DS, but ¯\(ツ)/¯.

I agree that any distinction is not worth stressing out over. It's just another detail hobbyists (or greedyboyz) like to obsess about.

Antek Transformers - in no particular order, for a stereo amp, buy whatever is in stock of AS-3218, AS-4220, AS-3220, AS-4218. Any of these is more than big enough for F5m and other projects, and will work perfectly with the supplied components.

Thank you! Just ordered the AS-4218. Two left in stock on the Antek Website.

My main concern was that it wouldn't work with the supplied components. Picked AS-4218 because it has 18v, based on what was mentioned in post #541
