Keratherm is good. I find it very much analogic to low profile rubbers: pleasure level is high, but so is risk and consequence of ripping.
If you want the very best locking method use this. Will not damage and has the greatest work holding capability.

Don't wear out and does no damage. There are also belleville springs. I used them to make Flight Control Data simulators. The first that actually worked and could return to zero.
And VW bug engines. They have dozens of metric wavy spring washers.

Jet engines old and new as well. A good idea to not create anymore failure modes internally.
