Today was a good day!

Its the $200, now $300 ones autoformer volume ccontrol modules which is presently boxed with single input and output per channel. Like you showed in your ZM Blog years ago.
I have used it since 2015 and finally took your advice and built a Toshiba 2SK170BL shunt powered dual mono supplied PSU buffer in a separate box before it, and you are right, it sounds significantly better.
Now that I am building the IP and since you have drilled into my head how low source impedance is veery important for AVC I was thinking that I can place the AVC between the IP's buffer output and the gain set, J2 to AVC input and output from AVC to J1 going to gain set? Or as you best advice.
Thanks.

Ordered... a lot easier than the first one. Thanks Gianluca.

I guess it's a California Design... it says "All Right"... I think I'll play the Beach Boyz over the right channel.

My only comment is that with dual volume pots, this thing is asking for a resistor ladder not a pot. Otherwise balancing it is gonna be nuts for your typical neurotic audiophile (ie: me!). Yet, I do like the ability to balance. I miss that in the modern preamp designs.

My AVC volume control will be in a separate enclosure upstream. Anything I need to do between it and the Iron Pre, like a buffer. SE into the balanced Iron Pre. Seems that you think it is best with a buffer upstream of the AVC. I am trying to separate all the functions of a preamp into different enclosures. I can test out different volume controls and different preamps.
