4 layers is enough for DAC.
Sometimes even 2 layers (with good results).
(However, 4191+4499 I did in 4).
In old chips I agree. 4 layers board now are cheap and is easier to avoid crosstalk and do Your layout better. 🙂Sometimes even 2 layers (with good results).
Can You tell more about Your project?(However, 4191+4499 I did in 4).
In old chips I agree.
Not only, I susscesfully made in 2 layers AD1862, PCM1792, AK4490/93/95, BD34352, etc.

I hope it will be with more details in July.
It is one of the modules of my ATDAC-11 project: https://www.altor.co/products/audio/atdac-11
Briefly: AK4191+ AK4499 + 2xOPA1632+OPA1656, powered from LT3042, TPS79318, LP5907.
PCB is 85x60mm, 4 layers.
All other things (power, USB/SPDIF inputs, Control) are located at the universal main PCB.
Unfortunately, I'm too busy with other things, so I only made 2 pieces, which were sold out (one sold, the second was a gift to a friend).
That's why this module is still not presented on my site.
